Walter E. Price, Jr. September 21, 1930 - April 16, 2015 Walter E. Price, Jr., passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 16, 2015, at Community Hospice in Hughson, Ca. Walter is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne Price, his parents, Walter & Celia Price, and his brother, Renee Price. Walter served his country as a Marine during the Korean War, he then went on to work for the Oakland Police Department as a Sargeant in the homicide division. He retired after 17 years with the OPD. Walter is survived by his four daughters, Becky Verarde, Linda Lovelace, Susan Woodring, Cathy Roop and his brothers, Rod & Michael Price. Walter enjoyed gardening, carving, drawing/sketching, built furniture, painted and sculpted. His greatest joy came from his 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, 3:00-7:00 p.m., at Riverbank Memorial Chapel, 3131 Santa Fe, Riverbank, Ca., 95367. Interment with military honors will be at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 E. River Road, Escalon, Ca.
