Helen Bastain Evansville, Indiana Helen Bastain, 88, of Evansville passed away Wednesday January 28, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital Main Campus. She was born April 23, 1926 in St. Wendel, IN to William and Barbara (Hertel) Helfert. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, especially for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Bastain; grandson, Randy Bastain; brother, Butch Helfert; and sisters, Tilly Lutz and Olivia Glass. Helen is survived by her daughter, Linda Boren of Evansville; son, Larry Bastain (Vickie) of Mt. Vernon: 8 grandchildren, Ronald and Donald Boren, Charyl Yates, Crystal Lovelace, Larry Bastain, Jr, Jerry, Terry and Scotty Bastain; 20 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Helfert; two sisters, Mildred Lovell and Roseann Yancey and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday January 30, 2015 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Robert Nall officiating. Burial will be in Tupman Cemetery.
