News Death Notice HICKS, Joe. L. Age 79, a native of Heard County, GA and a resident of Dayton for many years, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015. He was employed by McCall's Publishing Company for over 16 years and was the founder and CEO of Hicks Trucking, Inc. Preceded in death by his parents, Grady Hicks, Sr. and Ludie Loveless-Hicks, stepmother, Eunice Hicks; brothers, Bobby Lee Sr. and Grady, Jr. Hicks; sister, Mildred Hill; sons, Torance L. Sr. and Jeffrey L. Hicks; daughter, Gayle C. Newell (Ware). He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife of 54 years, Marjorie; daughter, Kerisse Hicks; sons, Kelvin (Brenda) Hicks, Robert M. (Regina) and Reginald D. Newell; brothers, Nathaniel (Dorothy) and Lewis (Debbye) Hicks, James I. (Doris) Wyatt; sisters, Helen Ogletree, Carene (Gene) Cook, Joyce Patricia Coleman; brother-in-law, Conza Lee Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Mt. Moriah M. B. Church, 301-323 Mia Ave. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 10 am-12 pm.
