Hawkes SPRINGFIELD, IL - Mary F. Hawkes, 92, of Springfield, IL died at 1:51 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. She was born on October 20, 1922 in Mooresboro, NC to John and Addie (Mode) Lovelace. She married Earl Foster on August 17, 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 1984. Together they had two daughters, Mary Foster Groth and Patricia Foster Baker. They both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. Mary and Earl owned and operated Foster Photography in Springfield for many years. She married John Hawkes on February 4, 1986, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2001. Mary is survived by her granddaughters, Crystal (Oley) Haynes and Jennifer (Companion, James Ringle) Jasmon; her great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Cassidy Haynes and Tre and Mary Ringle and several nieces and nephews. In addition to operating the photography studio, Mary was a top saleswoman for Sara Coventry jewelry, and won national awards for sales. She was a founding member of the American Business Woman's Association-Land of Lincoln Chapter and attended Elliott Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years. She and John were also members of the Cool Cruisers.
