Karen Acal Karen Acal (nee Lovelace), 49, of the Ironbound section of Newark, N.J., and Seaside Heights, N.J., passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015, in Pleasantville, N.J. Karen was a teacher's aide at the Ann Street School in Newark for 17 years and was loved by all her students and co-workers. She was the loving daughter of Dolores (Lysiak) and the late James Lovelace; beloved wife of Francisco "Frank" Acal Jr.; devoted and loving mother of Brittany Julia Acal, Justin Valentin Acal and his fiancee, Melissa Rodenbach; dear sister of James "Jimmy" Lovelace Jr. and his wife, Edna, and Joseph Marcelli and his wife, Helen, and dear sister-in-law of the late Concepcion "Connie" Acal.
