Grace A. Monella, 87, DeLarme Road, DuBois, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the DuBois Village. Born June 3, 1927, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Connie DeFazio Montante. On June 28, 1947, she married Samuel A. Monella. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 2013. Mrs. Monella worked at Rockwell International Manufacturing and retired after 13 years. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and loved to watch cooking shows on TV. She is survived by her daughter, Carole Lawson and her husband, Terry, of DuBois; three grandchildren: Lee Ann Lovelace and her husband, Shawn, of Greeley, Colo., Tara Deemer and her husband, Shawn, of DuBois, and Erin Freer and her husband, Daniel, of Cochranton; and eight great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by her son, Samuel A. Monella Jr.; two brothers, Peter and Leonard Montante; and a sister, Tina DeFazio. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
