The Star Shelby, NC February 13, 2015 CHARLES CHAPMAN SHELBY- Charles Eugene Chapman, 79, of 112 Lindsey Drive, Shelby, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at home. Born Sept. 9, 1935, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Ambrose Chapman and Maggie Poole Chapman. He was retired from PPG and attended Grace Covenant Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Joyce Ledbetter Chapman, ten brothers and sisters, and one great grandchild, Hunter Ridings. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti & Alan Ridings and Karin & Billy Harrell all of Shelby, four grandchildren, Nicole Webb and husband Gary, Jeremy Lovelace, Adam Ridings, and Lindsey Ridings, and seven great grandchildren, Rylee Webb, Maggie Webb, Izzy Webb, Emmy Bowen, and Maddie Bowen, Mason Bowen, and Easton Ridings. The family will receive friends from 2 until 2:45 p.m., Sunday, at Grace Covenant Church, 1101 County Home Road, Shelby. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, at Grace Covenant Church, with the Rev. Mickey Pruitt officiating. Burial will be private.
