    3. In addition to the fee-based Ancestry.com service, these arethe primary free services I use in my genealogy research:     Google News Archive:   http://news.google.com/newspapers     FamilySearch:    https://familysearch.org/search     Legacy.com:    http://www.legacy.com/ns/     FindaGrave:    http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi     USSearch:    http://www.ussearch.com/     Facebook:    https://www.facebook.com/     WhitePages:    http://www.whitepages.com/person And simply searching using Google can often provide free additionalinfo too. Greg Adams P.S.  Thanks for the obituaries, Bob  -  your efforts definitely help fill holes in my research! From: bgsroots via <[email protected]> To: LL <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2015 7:03 PM Subject: [LL] Quiet List   The list has been quiet for quite a while now with the exceptions the obituaries that I post on a daily basis.  You may wonder why I do this...  Greg, Doug, Cecil and others have contributed significantly to my Lovelace family tree both directly and indirectly and this is my way of “paying back” to them and to you by providing information to the Lovelace archives.   When you are doing research on your families the census can only take you as late as 1940, after that the sources are scarce.  Obituaries can often bridge the gap between the last census and the current generation because there are often 3 generations published in the obit.  It also is a valuable source for maiden names and other married names.   In order to liven the list up a little, I am asking you to post your favorite search sites.  Mine are: ancestry.com, familysearch.org, whitepages.com and findagrave.com.
