Mary Loveless Major, age 90, formerly of Lawrence Park, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015, in Columbia, Md., where she resided with her daughter, Lisa Gavan. She was born in Greenville, Pa. on October 18, 1924, daughter of the late Stephen B. Loveless and Emma Jane Hartley Loveless. Mary was a graduate of Thiel College and retired from Hammermill Paper Co./International Paper after many years of service as a research chemist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Major and a grandson, Dean Major. Survivors include her son, David S. Major (Marycatherine), of Lawrence Park; two daughters, Judy France (Terry), of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Lisa Gavan (Michael), of Columbia, Md.; eight grandchildren, David and Dale Major, Andrew, Amanda, and Kirby France and Sean, Kyle, and Patrick Gavan; and six great-grandchildren. The family will have a memorial service this summer in Erie. Arrangements will be made by the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. Interment, St. Gregory Cemetery.
