Published in Shelby Star on Feb. 3, 2015 BOYD GRIGG SHELBY- Boyd P. Grigg, 79, of 3248 Polkville Road, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at Caromont Health in Gastonia. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Burgin and Elizabeth Wood Grigg. He retired after 38 years of service with Fiber, and was a member of New Bethel Church of Shelby. He loved spending time with friends at Padgett's Amaco and Wendy's.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joyce Patterson Grigg; step-daughter, Teresa Lovelace; and sister, Evelyn NewtonHe is survived by his son, Philip Grigg and wife Cindy of Shelby; step-daughter, Jayne Owens of Kings Mountain; brothers, Garland Grigg and wife Nancy; Billy Grigg and wife Muriel, Carmie Grigg and wife Dorothy, all of Shelby, Hugh Grigg, and wife Nancy of Double Shoals, and Heyward Grigg and wife Ella Cherryville; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at his home.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at New Bethel Church of Shelby, with the Rev.
