More complete obit on my cousin than the previous one I posted... ED LOVELACE JR. SHELBY- James "Ed" Lovelace Jr., died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James Lovelace Sr. and Hester McSwain Lovelace Justus. He retired at 36 years and 10 months from PPG. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Lovelace; sister, Docia Ann Lovelace; and step-father, Erskine Justus. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Hazel Walker Lovelace, of the home; son, Jim Lovelace; and a special son, Kelly Newsome, both of Lexington; daughter, Pamela J. Castles and husband Lamar of Greenville, NC; sisters, Madeline Queen and husband Bob, and Millie Whitaker and husband Elmer, all of Shelby; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Betty Lovelace of Shelby. The family will receive friends following the service, at the church. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Ascension Lutheran Church, with Pastor Matt Miller officiating.
