    1. [LL] Genetic Genealogy course

    3. Greetings, all! Well, registration opened up at noon today for the first session of this summer's Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, and I was able to get into the class I wanted to attend: Practical Genetic Genealogy! If you want, you can take a look at the course description here: http://www.gripitt.org/?page_id=1147 It will be a week-long immersion into DNA analysis for genealogy, which is something I have wanted to learn more about for a while now. Some top-notch instructors and a full schedule of classes and exercises which I hope will help me to understand autosomal and mitochondrial DNA analysis, and to become better at interpreting our yDNA study results. I'm really looking forward to it. Anybody in the Pittsburgh area? This is the week before July 4th, so maybe we could get together in the evenings. The Institute is being held at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh. So keep your fingers crossed for me that I can do the reading beforehand and get to where I know what I'm talking about. :-) Peace, Part of the Tree, Greg

    3. You're going to love that course, Greg. I didn't take it last year (took the Law School class) but everyone else was buzzing about it! 3. Greg, that looks like a great course. I recognize the names of several of the instructors. They are top-notch people. I hear you joking about getting up to speed, but remember that everything can seem perplexing up to the moment that you realize it isn't. This set of studies will give you a great deal of excellent information, and I hope you enjoy the heck out of it.
