Ijams was a member of Meridian Baptist Church and a retired electrician, with Ideal Electric. He was a farmer and master gardener. He served in the Army - Air Force during World War II. Preceded in death by parents, Millard and Eva Lovelace; sister, Kate Moyers; brothers, Aaron and M.C. Lovelace. Survivors: wife, of 64 years, Evelyn Mays Lovelace; daughter, Beverly (Bob) Kerr; sons, Phillip (Kathy) Lovelace, Wyatt (Brenda) Lovelace; sister, Mildred (Gene) Rigsby; special nephew, Craig McGhee; several nieces, and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marcella and Dr. Boyd Burris, Dixie and John Cruze and Mary Waterman. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. The interment will follow in Roseberry Cemetery.
