Where did the White Christmas thing start? Anyhow, we are enjoying the first White Christmas here in Davie/Iredell Co, NC since 1947 and only the third since records have been kept. The other was 1880 in which there was an inch. There was 4 and a half in 47. There is over three there now and snowing steadily with the end not predicted until noon tomorrow! Makes the Bah Humbug lights really stand out! Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad from out West. Google and Bing say White Christmas relates back to pagan traditions of the winter solstice celebrated in December (like holly, evergreens, a yule log, etc.).
