Richard Lovelace, 74, passed away March 19, 2010. He was born September 3, 1935 in Maud, OK to Virgil and Evelyn Lovelace. He was a graduate of Maud High School and a 1960 graduate of OCU, where he received a full scholarship. He was one of very few college educated hearing-impaired persons of that time. He was a draftsman and worked on underground missile sites in Cheyenne, WY and Lubbock, TX; and retired after 20 years at ODOT. To fulfill his dream, he opened his own restaurant maintenance business, Lovelace & Son. He was a hard worker, industrious person, and a loving husband and father. He loved to travel, cook and was very mechanically inclined. He really enjoyed his dogs. He is survived by a son, Cody Lovelace, and wife, Dedra, of Cushing; a daughter, Alisa Lovelace, and husband, Mike, of Lawton; a stepson, Robert Levine of Wadesboro, NC; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Sylvester of OKC; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen, and husband, Jack Copeland, of Macomb; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents; brother, Robert V. Lovelace and sister DeLoyce Branscum. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Crosswalk Community Church, 7221 Lyrewood Lane. Richard will be laid to rest next to his wife at Resurrection Cemetery, OKC.
