A George Loveless was in 1780's Kentucky along with Samuel Van Hook whose family hailed from NY via Monmoouth Co., NJ to Orange Co., NC to Virginia to KY. Back around 1700 the Herrings and Van Hooks intermarried in NY. Di George Loveless really stay in NY or was he the one in early KY? With that infomation the following old post might make sense: This John LOVELESS (born ca 1698) is believed by me and by others to be the father of another John LOVELESS (ca1740-1803) who served in the l4th Regiment, Albany County NY Militia under Colonel Knickerbocker during the Revolutionary War, receiving bounty land in the New York Military District and dying at Syracuse NY in 1803. This younger John LOVELESS, as nearly as I can determine and according to the Robertson book, was the father of George LOVELESS (1771-1836) who married Ruhama --?-- and settled at Meridian, Cayuga Co NY in 1800. The much-discussed John LOVELESS of Washington Co VA and Limestone KY who married (2nd) Rachel VanHook and died in Ross Co OH was about 40 years older than the aforementioned George, and thus could not have been his brother, and was definitely not his father. This John also had a son George (1760-1833) who is now pretty well documented, but when Robertson published her book, all the various Johns and Georges were amalgamated in all sorts of speculation.
