    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Everytime the news comes on abt. the oil spill, Ole Buckley begins to agitate his petroleum engineering mind, saying, "Well, I don't know nothing about off shore wells, but I wonder if they've tried this." Then I'm taken thru some technical description of capping a blow out well on land, which though not a piece of cake is obviously much easier to deal with. My Daddy, a geologist, were he alive, would be doing the same thing. These oilmen.....they loooove working these wells! Never understood why.....that's some dirty and difficult work usually in weather waaaay too cold or waaaaay too hot! Now, the geologists and the engineers don't actually do the work.....they do the thinking and the telling. In the Houston Chronicle was a story about one of the 11 who was killed in the Gulf. "His girlfriend said he had been calling her before and after every shift --- unusual for him. She says he was frustrated with problems on the project. 'Everything that could go wrong was going wrong,' she said. 'Every time he'd call me, he'd say, 'This is a well from hell.' " Ah guess. o : Since the country continues to have a need for petroleum until the alternative energies are developed, one would think the safest places to drill which we have in abundance is on land.....which the special interests block. So, it forces drilling in the most difficult of places.....doesn't seem right bright. Also, seems as if decisions these days are based on who's pocket is fullest of the most money. Ah, me! In the meantime my heart breaks for the Louisianaians who are w/out a doubt the cutest people in the world! They have their own little culture down there, and have great fun and spirit! I have several little chums who live in New Orleans....some of the funniest stuff I receive thru email comes from a 90+ gal who can bang purdy good on a computer key board. ( : Y'all have a good one!
