Born in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late William Grover and Eldee Lovelace Smith. Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain with the Rev. Steve Taylor officiating. Visitation will from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the church fellowship hall prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Born in Lincoln County, NC, son of the late William Grover and Eldee Lovelace Smith, widow of the late Lillian Scism Smith ,wife of 57 years, and was also preceded in death by grandson Baker Falls, brothers, LB. Alexander, Johnny Alexander, Harold Alexander and sister Addie Bell White. A member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, served as a Deacon, a founding member of the Bethlehem Fire Department and a former member of the Progressive Club. Served in the US Army during World Ward II in the Pacific Theatre. He was a farmer and former employee of Ford Tractor Company. SURVIVORS: Son: David P.
