Hi, all I just got word that I'll be travelling to Phoenix, AZ in early December for about a week. Susan has a conference, and I'm going to tag along on a vacation. So I need info on sights to see and things to do in Phoenix. I'll actually be staying just south of Phoeniz off I10 near Firebird Lake, about 5 miles nearly due west of Chandler. Having never been to the southwest, I'm anxious to see the desert and its natural history. Don't play golf, so no need for golf course info. Would like to find out about the area. Anybody got any ideas? Peace, Part of the Tree, Greg
You didn't say you had transportation but assumed you do. There are two things in Arizona of value to a first trip but they will require full day. Grand canyon, and Sedona all north of Phoenix. There is also an Indian mountain dwelling as you go to Sedona on main highway. Tucson south of Phoenix also has things to see and an old mission halfway to the Mexican border. Right now they are asking Americans to steer clear of the border towns.
