OK, everybody.... Maya started her new job about 10 minutes ago. She's working as a cook at Husk, the new restaurant in Charleston for Sean Brock, the James Beard Best Chef Southeast. With Husk, Brock is working on a revival of southern food with a "molecular gastronomy" twist. There is an article in Time magazine about him and this southern cuisine revival, and you can read it here: http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,2027672,00.html While you're reading, just imagine the flavors and think about my daughter working away in this kitchen :-) She was so excited last night after attending orientation with about 50 other employees (wait staff and cooks) that she was about to bust. She also shared the Husk website with us: http://www.huskrestaurant.com/ Go take a look..... YUM! And to Susan, I, too, was sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Kat. Never fear...
