How do we known that the city of Rogers referred to in this article is in Taylor County? According to the GNIS, there is a populated area in Bell County (which is adjacent to Milam County) that is also called Rogers. Since the Deputy Sheriff is from Milam County, it seems more logical to me to think that the article is referring to Rogers, Bell County, Texas. I do have some Lovelaces living in Bell County, Texas, in 1880. But none of them are named Lee.
