Katherine, There seems to be a family named Elam that moved into Iredell Co, where Charles Lovelace lived, before 1850 ( Charles Elam bought land from the Tomlinson family about then) in the same neighborhood that the Lovelaces lived. They own the tract where Erasmus and Lidia lived on. I now have all of Dr Laugenhour's papers scanned and on a disk. I really haven't spent too much time going over any of the files due to health and two of my kids getting married and dragging me all over for reasons yet to be revealed . If you want. I will try and email them to you. It would be nice to figure out this gang so I can figure in the in laws! Larry On 7/6/2010 9:48 AM, Katherine Melton wrote: > Nancy, > Thanks for the new imput . Larry, Good to hear from you . Yes , I am interested in filling any holes possible . I come thru Elam Lovelace my direct line . I wondered where the name originated and thought maybe from a mother's maiden name . We do repeat them a lot . I have a few of his papers but didn't have enough sense to copy all of them when I was there . Still trying to get back there but that may not happen anyway soon . Kids let me drive in town but don't want me on the road . Shoot . Makes me mad . On the computer can go any where but not the same as walking the real ground . Have wondered how you are . Thanks for the offer . My health has improved but I will never be a 100 % any more but I still can take care of myself . Can't conplain .
