Mornin' Cuzzies, Glub, glub here in ole Houston town. The media, such as it is, says we had 12 inches of rain. Just rained all day long. Of course, it's flooded lots of road and freeways because Houston was built on a swamp originally. Yesterday was definitely a day not to be out and driving around. But, I believe it's over now and there will be no more ruminants of Mr. Hurricane Alex. So, one storm down w/ we presume more to go. ) : Fourth of July celebrations will be able to go w/ backyard bar b ques, family gatherings, and fireworks. Then will come the onslaught of the mosquitoes which we all expect and are used to. The Houston Chronicle had a story yesterday......"Most Texas school kids failing in fitness w/ 2/3's flunking state test, looser rules for gym classes raise fears." Yikes! As an ex-professional athletic teacher, I find this absolutely apalling! As communities we don't ramrod our school's curriculum like we used to or we should. I could see this was the direction we were headed 40 years ago. The machines.....the puters, the games have our children by the absolutely throat. Ah, me.... Y'all have a good one out there today!
