Lovelace, My Father is Callie's SON! Callie Married, Thomas Jefferson Thornton ( or became his wife I have no documented proof of an actual marriage)How ever they did have several children together, these are my Fathers brothers,,Harmon Gulley(that's with a long U) Robert Trust, Preston Benjamin, and my father Alfred Newton, All with the last name Thornton, as Callie Lovelace was the Daughter of William M. Love Lace and Louisa J Owens. So unless One of them is part Chickasaw, C I don't know how Callie was allotted land there Cherokee is questionable due to Callie was born in the Chickasaw nation, she is there with Louisa and William Lovelace at 20 yrs old on the 1900 census, and It is said that she had allotted, land there on the Oklahoma side of the Red river, and it is possible my Father was born there, for the purpose of receiving his social security benefits, since the board of social sec! urity could find no birth record for him,or his Brothers, they have it documented as he was born in Bosque county TX, which is where the US census recorded William and Louisa in 1880. So my question is if they were in the Chickasaw Nation, how could they have been Cherokee? especially since I currently live in the Cherokee nation and it so much farther north, it does not seem likely. I think We should all be looking at Chickasaw records. Not trying to stir a ruckus here just trying to find documented info. any one know anything to add?
