Cuzzins: I have found a James Newton Lovelace who married Ollie Lumpkin ca 1920 in McNairy Co TN. James Newton was born Dec 7, 1879 in MS and died May 27, 1964 in McNairy Co TN. I don't have this James in my data base with the middle name of Newton. I do have a James b ca 1880 in Lee Co MS, son of James T. Franklin Lovelace and Mary Susan Wooldridge. James T is the son of William Erasmus and Panthea Allison. The Lovelace men are from the line of JBL's son Charles. Can anyone tell me if Jame b ca 1880 and James Newton b Dec 7, 1879 are the same guy? Thanks Lou Ann

If you look at the 1880 census record for James Franklin, there is a son James that is 5 months old with a birth date of Dec 1879. If you look at the 1910 census record for James Franklin (30 years later), there is a son Newton that is 30 years old. It looks like this is the same son so I suspect his full name is James Newton. I have run into this issue quite often where the census record will use the first name one year and the middle (or common name) the next year.
