Mornin' Cuzzies, Lovely summer morn around here.....as I overlook the very green woods here in my catbird seat on the second floor. Greener than I've ever seen it! Up in one of tallest trees is a trumpet vine which has wrapped itself around many limbs and has many cascading orange flowers hanging down and swinging in the breeze. Soooo pretty! A beautiful, quiet and peaceful spot in this nutty city. On Friday my Daddy was born 108 yrs. ago.....all 6 ft. 4 in. of his Yankee self. Got a Masters from Harvard in chemistry, went to South America and proclaimed himself an oiyle man working for what became a part of the Rockefeller empire. He packed a gun on his back as he worked in the jungles......"why, Daddy?" "So, the anaconda and jaguar wouldn't eat me." Ah guess so! Then he returned to Texas after abt. 10 yrs. and hung out his shingle as an independent. Within the next 10 or 15 yrs., Texas became the producer of 90% of the world's oil. I'm not promoting oiyle; just promoting Daddy who happened to do oiyle. And, here in Texas he ran into the finger-snapping, table dancing, beautiful and beguiling southin' blossom <Overstreet/Loveless cross> who tended to run us all a little bit nuts. The last month he was here, I was teasing him saying, "Daddy, you silly ole thing! After all these years, and all her impossible stuff around here, you are still in love with her!" And, he just blushed so red! Well, I'll catch ya later, Ole Boy, just like I promised! ( : Have a lovely, peaceful Sunday! Buckette
