Frances ADAMA ADAMA, Frances (Martin, Waller) Died in her residence on July 17, 2016 in Richmond, B.C. She was 97. Frances (Fran, Frankie) was born on March 24, 1919 in Calgary, Alberta to Nicholas and Mabel (Oliver) Martin. She moved to B.C. in 1936 settling first in Wells and Barkerville and, later, in Nanaimo and West Vancouver. She married Art Waller in 1941. Her second marriage to John Adama ended with his death in 2001. In 1954 Frances began a long career in sales. She loved her work as a commercial traveller in western Canada not retiring until she was 85. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Waller and Fred Penland; niece Janelle Hogue and family; nephews John and Drew Martin and their families; and many others in the Adama, Penland, Hougen, Armstrong, and Lovelace families. She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers Jack and Harry Martin. Frances will be buried with her mother and brothers in a private ceremony in Calgary at a later date. A gathering for friends and family will take place on August 2, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Courtyard Gardens, 7051 Moffatt Road, in Richmond. The family wishes to thank the staff at Courtyard Gardens Gardenside wing for their kindness and excellent care of Frances in the last three years and particularly during her final days.
