    3. JUNE SMITH March 28, 1924 - July 5, 2016 OKLAHOMA CITY June Nichols Smith was born Artie June Gibson on March 28, 1924 in Oklahoma City. She passed away on July 5th, 2016. June attended Capitol Hill and Central High Schools and Oklahoma City University, where she studied English and Journalism. She was baptized with her children and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, OKC. She loved her family very much. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her children, always concerned with their happiness and well-being.June enjoyed boating and attending O.U. football games with her husband, C.W. Smith. Her hobbies at other times in her life were raising and showing Dachshund dogs and playing golf and tennis. She also loved reading, music, movies, traveling and dancing of all kinds.In 1985, after years of aerobic dancing, she took up tap dancing as a hobby, and became a member of "Happy Hoofer's" dance team in OKC and performed every season until 2008 at various churches, nursing homes, hospitals, senior citizens functions and at the annual Festival of the Arts with "Tarpley's Tappers".She is preceded in death by her husband C. W. Smith and her son John W. Nichols and her daughter-in-law Kris Nichols. She is survived by sons: Jerry R. Nichols, Tulsa, OK, Pat Nichols and his wife Debbie Nichols of Ardmore, OK, daughter, Robyn Harrell and her husband Bob Harrell of Houston. Her grandchildren Carter Nichols of Okla. City, Nancy Loveless and her husband Blake Loveless and children, Erika and Blake of Tulsa. Erin Peters and her husband John Peters of Tulsa, OK, and children JJ and Vincent, and Justin Nichols of Tulsa, OK, and Ryan Rouse of Houston, TX.We are forever changed and blessed by the time we spent with this wonderful woman, and will forever miss her in our hearts.Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, July 11, 2016, at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116. Internment for immediate family will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
