William Noah "Dock" <- Cynthia Jane <- Nathan <- Asa <- Barton <- Benjamin Shelby StarShelby, NC August 25, 2016 JOANN LOVELACE CHERRYVILLE-Peggy Joann Hoyle Lovelace, age 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at Peak Resources in Cherryville. Born in Cleveland County, on April 19, 1937, she was the oldest daughter of 12 children born to Luther Raymond and Hattie Lee Abernathy Hoyle and Myrtle Self Hoyle. Joann was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. She was a devout Christian who enjoyed visiting the sick at the hospital and at their homes. Joann was a lab tech and a trained EMS at Fiber Industries when she retired. Joann was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She was an avid "mall walker", enjoyed fishing, and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, Joann is preceded in death by four brothers, Gene Hoyle, Bill Hoyle, Coleman Hoyle and Dale Hoyle. Joann is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Charles Lovelace; two sons, Richard Lovelace and wife Connie and Larry Lovelace and wife Rita all of Shelby; six sisters, Ann Hord and husband Everett of Cherryville, Linda Willis and husband Charles of Shelby, Betty Sue Thornburg and husband Dwan of Kings Mountain; Margie Vess and husband Walter, Janet Helms and husband Michael, and Kathy Weaver all of Cherryville; a brother, Don Hoyle of Cherryville; three sisters-in-law, Marie Hoyle, Loretta Hoyle and Mary Hoyle all of Cherryville; four grandchildren, Joshua Lovelace Brad Lovelace, Steven Costner and Chris Hale; and great-grandson, Cody Hale. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Buffalo Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Mackie Turner Jr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
