Picture appears to be of an African American Nancy Brown NANCY BROWN LIMA — Mrs. Nancy Pearl Brown, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at approximately 9:01 p.m. at Baton Rouge Health Care Center in Lima. She was born on March 4, 1932 in Florence, Alabama to the union of Jerry and Eliza (Brown) Southern, Sr.; both parents preceded her in death. On July 11, 1964 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Admiral D. Brown, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 8, 1989. Mrs. Brown retired from General Motors after many years of service. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers' Board and as past president of the Usher Board. She was a member of the Southside Neighborhood Association where she served as treasurer. She leaves to cherish her precious memory a daughter; Sarah Smith (Willie) of Caledonia, IL. 3 grandchildren; Sheila R. Cage (Robert) of Lima, Scott K. Smith (Amy) of Hilliard, OH and Kasey N. Smith of Atlanta, GA. 3 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah F. Southern, of Lima. A special caregiver; Gwenda Avery. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters; Christine Hall, Mary Lovelace, Julia B. Harris, Eliza Avery and Ruth Burch. 3 brothers; Hunter Carroll, Delmus Southern and Jerry Southern, Jr. Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Cleven Jones, officiating. Visitation/Wake will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also at the Church.
