Reginald Bodkin "Reggie" Lovelace Jr. LOVELACE, Reginald "Reggie" Bodkin, Jr., 91, originally from Memphis, TN passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Stuart, Florida. He was a WWII veteran, B-24 pilot, deployed to the pacific with his crew and plane about a month before the war ended. He came back to the states and received a chemical engineering degree from the University of Tennessee. On April 28, 1953 he married the love of his life, Geneva Sprowls of Buffalo, Kentucky at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville. Work later took Reggie and his new wife to New Madrid, MO. Two years after their wedding they celebrated the birth of their only child, Reginald Benjamin Lovelace. Reggie worked many years and in many different places for Ralston Purina. Later, coming back to Louisville, he worked for and retired from Auto Electric Service Co. He was a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Bethany Baptist Church. He and Geneva did volunteer work at Baptist Hospital East. Reggie was preceded in death by his wife on October 7, 2012. He is survived by his son, his son's wife Tina, and his two grandchildren, David and Rachael Lovelace. Family will receive friends from 3-8 pm, Friday, September 9, 2016 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Highlands with burial to follow in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, KY, Larue County.
