    3. Evelyn Putt KENDALLVILLE — Evelyn Irene Putt, age 96, of Kendallville, died on Monday, June 27, 2016, at North Ridge Village Nursing Center in Albion, Indiana. Mrs. Putt was born in DeKalb County, Indiana, on November 19, 1919 to the late Harry and Hazel (Brew) Foster. She graduated from Ashley High School in 1936 and later received her registered nurse diploma from the Lutheran School of Nursing in Fort Wayne. She married Allen O. Putt on March 5, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia. Allen preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1995. Evelyn was a registered nurse for more than 40 years. She started her nursing career in New Orleans in 1943, moved to Norfolk, Virginia, where Allen was serving in the Navy, and spent more than 30 years working at McCray Hospital in Kendallville. Evelyn loved the sunshine and spending her days outdoors. They always put out a big vegetable garden every summer. She also grew rhubarb and red raspberries and loved selling her produce at her roadside stand. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Survivors include two daughters, Deedra and Doug Atz of Kendallville and Alana and Richard Sibert of Kendallville; seven grandchildren, Jacob and Rachel Atz of Bloomington, Abigail and Jeremy Creigh of Fort Wayne, Gabe Atz of Indianapolis, Sadie and Alex Deig of Mt. Vernon, Tim and Laura Sibert of Kendallville, Jenny and Shaun Loveless of Huntertown and Steve and Angie Sibert of Kendallville; and seven great-grandchildren, Ella Creigh, Treven Creigh, Ruby Deig, Nick Sibert, Sam Sibert, Kane Sibert and Taylor Sibert. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Poppy, and her brother, Donald Foster. Graveside funeral services and burial will be Friday, July 1, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville. Officiating the funeral service will be the Rev. Dan Barker. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial donations may be made to Noble County Humane Society. Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville is in charge of arrangements.
