    3. John b ca 1670 d after 1711 This is the John that no one knew existed until Mike Marshall sent me a document on which he is named in a "List of Debts" It's a 1711 estate record of a man named Dr Joseph Venour, Charles Co MD, again Port Tobacco (anglicized from the original Indian name) and where almost all our early Lovelace records take place. Since the man is a doctor I presume that "list of debts" means that all the people named owed him. The list reads like a who's who of Charles Co and includes John Lovelace. it appears that all of Charles Co was in debt to this man. Some of the names appear in the same documents in which Benjamin and Abraham also appear. This John finally filled the gap between the immigrant and the next generation of Lovelace men in MD. There have been no other records found of him or of any other Lovelace near his age in MD, consequently it is assumed thought not absolutely proven that he has to be the father of the rest. Lou Ann
