For many years she also worked on the voting polls. After becoming a widow she began working full time at Bank of New York in their safe deposit department for 7 years. Janet preferred to spend her days living within a personally rigid routine and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and crocheting. Growing up in the Depression taught her how to be thrifty and she lived on a eager social security allotment. Mom knew what she wanted in terms of funeral and burial and in her words "keep it simple, no flowers or viewing". At her request Parmele-Auchmoody Funeral Home will conduct her cremation services. A memorial service will be held at a later date. For Janet's guestbook or to send a sympathy card please visit www.hudsonvalleyfuneralhomes.com.
