Thanks, Bob Stewart =============================== >From Legacy.com Published in Shelby Star on February 8, 2011 BETTY IRVIN DEC. 13, 1933 – FEB. 6, 2011 SHELBY -Betty Lee Barnett Irvin, 77, of 603 Poplar Drive, Shelby, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby. Born Dec. 13, 1933 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Henry Barnett and Lottie Lou Jones Barnett. She was retired from Ora Mill as a spinner and was a member of Grace Covenant Church of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Carter of Shelby; and brother, Bate Barnett. Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Dixon Irvin; daughter, Susan Lovelace and husband, Scott of Shelby; three stepdaughters, Donna Wall of Shelby; Carolyn Smith and husband, Chris of Elberton, Ga.; and Diane Jones of Shelby; three brothers, Bobby Barnett of Polkville, Douglas Barnett of Polkville and Charles Barnett of Rock Hill, S.C.; sister, Sheila Mathis of Belwood; four grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. A special thank you to her hospice nurses, Cynthia Gould, Dorothy Reynolds and Anita Jones. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston. At other times the family will be at the home of Susan and Scott Lovelace, 405 Allen Street, Shelby, N.C. 28150.
