    3. Martha, I have corrected the DOB for Elbert W Loveless. Thank You. Since I am still employed full time at the age of 70, these mistakes happen to me in this research because of the lack of time I devote to it. However, I'm very interested, and plan more research once I retire. I do not have a copy of the history to which you refer. I have two stories about Elberts' death. One is that he "just got sick and died" the other is that he was injured while having timber cut into lumber at a saw mill, with a terrible cut on the leg. I wonder if there is any mention of this in your information. Thank you again for your correction. 3. The genealogy work written by Myrtle Loveless Foster in 1947, The Genealogy and history of the Loveless family, is available through the Family History Library. You can order the microfilm at your local Family History Center. The film # is 1317398 Item 3. I have not heard either of the stories about Elbert's death. Have you checked the old newspapers in Hill County, Texas? I have a copy of Mary Ann's widow's pension application, but I haven't looked at it in years. Here are the notes I made: Texas Confederate Pension Application #44011, by Mary A. Loveless “Served 15 mos. Inlisted Feby 1864, surrendered May 1865, Thompson’s Company, Morelands (?) Regiment, cavalry Witnessed by Carl Rountree and M. M. Morris Affidavit of service by W. S. Williams and J. W. Leatherwood - served with him in Company F, 32nd Mississippi Cavalry Dated 5 Apr 1928, Filed 6 Sep 1928 Lamesa, Texas I should pull it out and look at it again! I wonder who W. S. Williams and J. W. Leatherwood were? Elbert's nephew married a Williams girl and two of her brothers married Leatherwood girls. All of them lived in the same area of Texas and had moved there from Mississippi.
