    3. OK, Let me take a stab at this one. 1. Google search for "Eldridge Lee Loveless" turns up the obituary for a Ruby Jewell Loveless of Heflin, AL: Source: Miscellaneous Calhoun County, Alabama Obituaries, 08-08-1998 http://www.obitcentral.com/obitsearch/obits/al/al-calhoun1.htm "Loveless HEFLIN Services for Ruby Jewell Loveless, 84, of Helfin will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Pinetucky Baptist Church with Revs. Stanley Smith and Van Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Pinetucky Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Loveless died Sunday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Murray of Marsfield, Texas, and Jennette Price of Heflin; three sons, Charles Loveless of Heflin, Eldridge Lee Loveless of Ranburne and Roger Wayne Loveless of Naggs Head, N.C.; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Loveless was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County and a member of Pinetucky Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Lee Loveless." All the children listed as survivors match the siblings listed in the obit posted by Bob yesterday. Her obit lists her husband as Elbert Lee Loveless and says she lived in Cleburne Co., AL. The date of the obit and her age at death give her a prospective birthdate of 1914. Assuming her husband is a similar age, they are both probably listed in the 1930 census, and there's a possibility they were married by that time (she would be 16...). An Ancestry.com search for "Elbert Loveless" living in Alabama turns up one hit, that a listing in the 1920 census of Arbacoochee, Cleburne Co., AL. This shows Elbert Loveless age 7 (b. c1913; fits with the age of supposed wife Ruby) in the household of one Cora Loveless, age 32 (b. c1888), and several siblings, older and younger. Eldest child is daughter Pearl, age 10 (b. c1910). Cora is listed as a widow. A WorldConnect search for an Elbert Loveless married to Cora comes up empty. An Ancestry search for "Elbert Loveless" b. 1911-1915 turns up an entry in the Social Security Death Index showing Elbert last living in Heflin, Cleburne Co., AL with a birthdate of 13 Jul 1912 and a death date of March 1985. An Ancestry search for Cora Loveless living in Alabama turned up a hit in the 1930 census in Arbacoochee which shows Cora I. Loveless living in the household of and listed as the daughter of Solomon and Elizabeth Teague. Cora was 43. All of the children listed in the 1920 census are there except for Elbert. Eldest child was daughter E. Pearl, age 20. There is also a listing in the 1910 census of Arbacoochee. This lists Cora I. Loveless as the wife of Curtis P. Loveless, b. GA, father b. NC, mother b. GA. Curtis was listed age 29 (b. c1881). Cora is listed age 23. One child, a daughter, age 5 mo. Name is hard to read, but it is indexed as Evia P. This is probably Pearl. An Ancestry search for "Curtis Loveless" living in Alabama turns up a WWI Draft Registration card for Cuirtis Pate Loveless of Heflin, Cleburne Co., AL, showing his next of kin as Cora Loveless. He gives is date of birth as 12 Oct 1878. There is a family tree on Ancestry which includes a Curtis Payton Loveless, b. GA c1876, living in Lost Creek, Cleburne Co., AL in 1880. The cited source is the 1880 census. More to come later. Gotta get outta here and go home! If anyone else can go further back with Curtis Payton Loveless, feel free to do so!
