Cobb & Catherine Wray Cobb)* ** ** *Died Jan. 24th, 1902 at the home of her son-in-law, David Parsons, Mrs. Mary Lewallen aged 74 yrs. And 3 months. She leaves four children, O. C. and William Lewallan of Corso, Mrs. Mattie Parsons of this neighborhood and Charles Lewallen of Montgomery City. She had been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church ever since she was 16 yers. Old. While she was quiet and unassuming, her life was that of an exemplary Chirstian. She had the love and esteem of all who knew her. After funeral services conducted by her pastor, Rev. Condiff her remains were laid to rest in the Old Liberty Cemetery. X. Q. Q.* William Harvey Lewallen Obit At Rest William Harvey Lewallen, son of William and Mary S. Lewallen, was born November 21, 1853, near Corso, Mo., where he spent his life and where he died January 21, 1920, age 66 years and two months. He was married to Mary Reeds, who preceded him to the great beyond just twelve days before. To this union were born four children—one son Arthur R., and three daughters, Saide, the oldest, dying in infancy; Mrs. Maud Fanning of Corso, and Lorah at home, and two grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his departure two brothers and one sister, namely; O. C. Lewallen and Mrs. Mattie Parsons of Corso, and C. E. Lewallen of Montgomery City. He was converted when quite young under the ministry of Rev. Taylor Bernard and united with the Olney Presbyterian church where he lived a consistant Christian life. He was later elected elder in that church. He was apparently in good health when his companion died, but seemed to stricken with grief and worry over her long illness and death that he broke down and heart failure took him away. Weep not, dear children, father and mother are united on the other shore where there is no sickness and death, where there is not goodbyes; they will be watching and waiting for loved ones left behind. We cannot understand why we had to give them up so close together, but some day, some time, we will know and understand, “For now we see through a glass, darkly: but when face to face: Now I know ??part: but then shall I know even as also I am known.” Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Campbell, after which the body was laid to rest by the side of his wife in New Liberty cemetery to await the resurrection morn. –X PERRY LEWALLEN’S FUNERAL The body of Perry Lewallen, who died Tuesday of last week at his home in Norman, Neb., arrived here Saturday morning and was taken to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas.
