    3. Cuzzins, From what I can find online, Mac Loveless, whose obit below was posted by Bob earlier today, was the son of Elmer Crosier Loveless and his wife Frankie Hill. I found a public story on Ancestry.com, posted earlier this month, by a Tom Loveless of Little Rock, AR. Here is the story cut and pasted from Ancestry: ================================= Elmer Crosier Loveless Named after Uncle Crosier, and nicknamed "Speed", because he moved so slow. He worked on the farm when he was growing up. Later he worked on the Robert Ray Hays place, in the gravel pit driving a team of mules, hauling gravel out to where they loaded it on the railroad cars. Later, in the thirties, when they had trucks, he drove a truck hauling gravel. Then he began to work on the trucks, and became a mechanic. In the thirties, we had a Atwater Kent radio, and he would take the battery out of the truck after driving it all day, and switch it with the radio battery. That way he would keep the radio battery charged up all the time. In 1928, when momma died, he did the cooking. He also taught Florence how to cook. In the thirties he got a job with Murrey Chevrolet, in Wynne, Arkansas. He worked there as a mechanic for many years. After daddy died he took on taking care of some of us kids. Most of us were scattered all over, but when he or she had no place to go, they would wind up at Elmer's place. He always seem to have room for us. While he was doing these things, he was also helping raise several kids of their own. Mostly, what he like to do was work on motors. He did not fish or hunt much but he like to shoot guns, mostly hand guns. He drank and smoked a pipe in his younger days. He had no trouble getting along with people, he was easy going. Him and Frankie did a good job raising their children. Elmer and Frankie got married back in 1930, while we lived on the Hays place. She helped us on the farm, in between having kids and taking care of them, and some of us when we were there. As I write this, they are still living in Wynne, Arkansas. Elmer is almost blind, but he still gets around good for his age. He goes to church every Sunday. He is now 81, and Frankie is 80, they still live in their own home and care for themselves. They will soon be having their 62nd anniversary. WE ALL LOVE THEM VERY MUCH !!!!!! (Forrest E. Loveless, September 2, 1993) =================================== The SSDI has this information on Elmer: Name: Elmer C. Loveless SSN: 430-03-1792 Last Residence: 65711 Mountain Grove, Wright, Missouri, United States of America Born: 14 Feb 1911 Died: 16 Dec 1994 State (Year) SSN issued: Arkansas (Before 1951) I found a file on Rootsweb's WorldConnect which lists the deceased children of Elmer and Frankie, and the names match those listed as siblings of Mac who had pre-deceased him. I'm confident that Mac is the son of Elmer Crosier. Soooo... I just dug a little deeper on the WorldConnect file. It was submitted by one Donna Sharp, who has a genealogy website at http://donnajean.tribalpages.com. She lists Elmer Krosier Loveless, b. 14 Feb 1911 and d. 16 Dec 1994, as the son of Edward S. Loveless b. c1868 VA and his wife Velma. She includes this census information on Edward: About LOVELESS, Edward S. =================================================== 1910 Smith, Cross, Ark Ed 48 sheet 14A 26 Apr 1910 67 67 Lovelace, Edward S age 42 2nd mg, md 0 yrs VA NY VA Carpenter Velma wife age 16 first mg, md 0 yrs, 0 births AR AR AR ================================================ 1920 Smith, Cross, Ar ED 78 sheet 9A 20/22 Jan 1920 153 160 Loveless, Edward S, 51, VA VA VA farmer Velma 27 wife AR AR AR Elmer son 8 AR VA AR Reson son 6 AR VA AR Bertie son 4 4/12 AR VA AR Florence dau 3 2/12 AR VA AR Lidie dau 1 6/12 AR VA AR =================================================== 1930 Smith, Cross, AR ED 10 sheet 3A 3 Apr 1930 48 49 Loveless, Ed age 59 wid md at age 35 WV NY WV farmer cotton farm Elmer son 19 single AR WV AR no occ Reeson/Ruson son 17 single AR WV AR Birlie son 15 AR WV AR Florence dau 13 AR WV AR Littie dau 11 AR WV AR Forest son 8 AR WV AR Catherine dau 6 AR WV AR Osten son age is scratched out AR WV AR ============================================== The only other thing I can discover is the maiden name of Edward's wife. I found their marriage license on FamilySearch.org. He married Velma Stinnett. He was 42, she was 18. They were married in Cross Co., AR om 14 Mar 1910. Another clue in the census records above is that Edward was born in VA, but his father was born in NY. That, and his name being Crosier, makes me think of Crozier Loveless of NY, which makes me think of Abraham of NY and cuzzin Pat Brooks. I spoke too soon again. I just found the family tree of the Tom Loveless I mentioned above as having posted the story about Elmer. He has the following line posted in that family tree: Elmer Crosier Loveless (1911-1994) + Francios Dorothy Hill - Edward Simon Loveless (1865-1933) + Velma Josephine Stinnett -- Henry C. Loveless (b. c1832 in OH, d. Woodford Co., IL) + Eliza Maxwell --- Crozier Loveless (1806 Dutchess Co., NY-1878 Woodford Co., IL) + Susannah LNU ---- Abraham Loveless (b. 1782, Dutchess Co., NY, d. 1857 Allegan Co., MI) + Asenath J. LNU ----- William Loveless (1755-1805) + Elizabeth Burns Tom doesn't provide a source for his placing Abraham as a son of William and Elizabeth. Can anyone confirm these connections or add anything?
