Good morning, cuzzins Got a little time this morning, so I thought I'd pop in with a little hello. It's a (relatively) warm, foggy morning here in the soggy SC Lowcountry. We had buckets of rain yesterday, all day, which we really needed. Had we been in other parts of the east, we would've gotten bucketfuls of snow... but it doesn't do that in Charleston very often. I sometimes miss snow, but for a long time now I've been living where snow is very rare. As most of you know, I"m a big fan of NC State University basketball. Well, my pore ol' Wolfpack just can't seem to get it right. Been going on for the past 25 seasons now. The team is being coached by Sidney Lowe, who was the point guard on the 1983 National Championship team. He has a great class of freshmen who came in this season, and they have a habit of building big leads, only to squander them. Last night was a case in point. They were playing Clemson at Clemson, which is a very difficult place for a visiting team. They built a 19 point lead in the first half.... 19 points! and ended up losing by 10. A very frustrating situation, and I'm sure Coach Lowe would be pulling his hair out if he had any to pull. Sigh....looks like I'll have to take my brother-in-law's advice...and say "Wait til next year". Been doing that since 1983! Still trying to re-wet my feet in genealogy. Been reading in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, which is a really good publication for teaching research techniques. Trouble is, it isn't very exciting, so it's pretty difficult reading, especially when it doesn't involve any of the folks you're actually researching. But I'm trying to build myself up into taking the NGS at-home study course. I think I'll get into that following the conference in May in Charleston. I'm hoping that gets me so jazzed that I'll be ready to devote a lot of time into research again. Well, that's about it from here. Family is doing OK... everyone is just following their own course, but they're alive and healthy, so we're thankful for that. Before I sign out, I'd like to get back into the "happy birthday" thing from the MyFamily site. They send out a "what's happening" post every so often, and today's post mentions birthdays on Groundhog Day for Jerry Melton and Mary Morgan. So Happy Birthday to you cuzzins! Y'all have a good one! Peace, Part of the Tree, Greg
