I'm looking for some help in getting more information about Richard Lovelace, br about 1790, Montgomery Co. Md Son of Reason - father of Nelson Lovelace I only have this possible birth date, do not have a wife or death date other than he eventually went to Indiana from Kentucky. Richard would be my 4th great grandfather. Thanks for your help and all the work you have done in the past. I really appreciate it. Merilee Lovelace-Kleiber
Hey, Merilee... For beginners, go to Rootsweb's WorldConnect pages at wc.rootsweb.com, click on advanced search, and enter Richard in given name, Lovelace in surname, and Reason in father's name. You'll get 4 hits, the last two of which list children. You may be able to contact the submitters for further information. Doing the same search on Ancestry.com returns 28 different hits in member family trees. If I search Ancestry for Richard Lovelace with a birthdate of 1790 plus or minus 5 years, gives way too many hits in different types of records for me to easily sift through. There are also records at www.familysearch.org, but I haven't gone through them all to see if they are the right Richard. I did find a marriage record for his marriage to Sally Hall. These are just a few of the available online resources. I assume you've been through the list archives? How about the documents library on our website?
