Hi, Sheila Just doing some down-and-dirty searches online. Confirmed through census records on Ancestry that he is the son of Thomas J. Loveless, but the mother's name varies. In the 1910 and 1870 census, he is married to Permelia F., and in the 1860 and 1850 census he is married to Jane. And I just found the reason for that discrepancy... Thomas James Loveless b. 1844, married to Permelia Frances Jasper, was the son of Thomas Loveless Jr. b. 1811 and Jane Williams. So I have two different families there. I found this on Rootsweb's WorldConnect site ( http://wc.rootsweb.com ). There are 10 family trees on WorldConnect which show Thomas James Loveless married to Permelia Frances Jasper. I find John Thomas Loveless b. 10 Apr 1876 married to Sarah M. Dye, which fits with the death certificate. Here are some notes from WorldConnect: from Jim Harlan's tree (Jim was on our list for a long time... not sure if he still is) "Name: John Thomas LOVELESS Given Name: John Thomas Surname: Loveless Sex: M Birth: 10 Apr 1876 Note: Not sure if this is him. From the 1911-1986 Kentucky Death Index: John T. Loveless Date: 270928 Age: 051 Place: PLSKI Volume: 053 Cert: 26494 Deathvol : 27 There is a head stone in the Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery in Pulaski Co., Kentucky with the following information: V. T. Loveless born 4-10-1876 died: 9-28-1927 could this V.T. be the same John Thomas Loveless???" There are also census records from 1900 and 1920 showing him as the head of household with Sarah M. as his wife. Ancestry.com has his WWI draft registration card and his listing in the KY birth records. I also found the death certificate online at Ancestry. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find any details about his death. There are children listed in some of the WorldConnect files, and I'm sure there are children listed in the census records, although I did not look at them. Hope this helps....
