    3. Lou Ann, do you have a little more info about this Abraham Lovelace. I have 2. One born 1866 and a Jr. born 1901. At 04:12 PM 7/3/2016, you wrote: List and all you dna experts, I have to confess that I'm still a little bit at sea concerning the actual ancestral value of autosomal DNA. In the cae of Abraham Lovelace whose line has daughtered out, therefore not available for Y-DNA, do you think it could help us put him with the Lovelace MD bunch (or noe) whichever the case may be? I personally think he belongs, but would love to find some proof more than trhe slim evidence we have. 3. Hi Lou Ann, As a direct male descendant of these guys back to William (?) I'll be glad to have a YDNA test done. I did do the 37 marker earlier, see kit 5995. I have been away from research for so long thought that I have no idea how to do it. Can you give me guidance? 1. Re: [LL] autosomal dna
    2. Lenny Darnell via
    3. Lou Ann I don't think autosomal can place someone in a "family". You can go back more than 2-3 generations, and you are right, matches can be random rather than definitive. You only make them definitive by triangulating the same segment with people from the same line. If you have three or more that match the same segment (especially if it is bigger than 7cM, then you know they have a common ancestor. If you can identify most recent common ancestry with them and rule out any other common ancestry, it's pretty golden. So for the case of Abraham, the best you could do is find multiple descendants of his that share the same segment. But that wouldn't place him in MD. However, if you could find multiple descendants of his that share a segment and multiple descendants of a MD Lovelace that also share the same segment, then it's a good bet that you have found Abraham's brother, cousin, etc. This is a longshot right now. But maybe as more people get tested and the testing companies refine their tools and give us more tools ourselves. 3. There has been a question for some time about whether there was one Ignatious with two wives, of if there was a father and son. This information that Jack sent calling him Ignatious Jr certainly indicates that there was an older one and probably his father. If that is the case, Basil would have been his brother and if he had children they were not of age. I have some hard copy notes on Ignatious from info I found when I was in MD, but I think those notes are in storage along with a lot of other stuff from when we we had the fire. I know I didn't lose them in the fire, but they are not where I can put my hands on them I need to find them again to see what I had found on Ignatious. I've let the ball drop on him since that time, just too much other going on. Lou Ann

    1. Re: [LL] Obituary of Bonnie Evans mentions mother Martha Loveless - UT
    2. Brondak via
    3. Martha might be thr daughter of James Anderson Loveless and Clara Jane Adams. Their daughter Martha was born 1907 in Orem UT which is the same county as Provo. These Lovelesses are from the line of John and Rachel Van Hook John and Rachel's son Jasper moved to UT. He had 10 kids. There were tons of these Lovelesses in UT. For example one of his sons had 9 kids by each of two wives and 12 by another. Another son had 14 children, another one had 16 children, one had 9 children and those are just some of them. Point being, almost any Loveless found in Utah Co UT is likely to be a member of this family. James and Clara Jane are just one possibility for Martha's parents. I'm sure they weren't the only ones who had a daughter Martha, but theirs is the one I found and she's the right age. Lou Ann
