Mornin' Cuzzies, Green sprouts still coming out.....I'd forgotten just how green and lush Houston can be.....it's gorgeous! ( : Yes, the word I get from mah friends is that the immigration thing is heating up on the border. Since at one time I lived in a house about a quarter of a mile from the Rio Grande River which seperates the two countries, I still have lots of friends up and down the Texas border and one really close friend in Arizona. But, everyone in Texas in the area are "packing" meaning they are carrying loaded guns. But, I don't know that that hasn't been the case for decades. Where I was, we all had loaded rifles mainly for livestock and varmits.....and that was only to put them out of their misery or protect them. We had them at the house for rattlesnakes. One night the dogs got rowled in the yard, and we found a rattlesnake was coming thru.....so, we shortened his trip a bit. This alarm is not aimed at the illegals coming through, but the drug cartels who have become so dangerous. And, not to worry abt. the children....they all know guns and shoot as well as the adults. I was very well schooled starting at age 5.....only because I was a big gal for my age. My ranch friends still living within 60 miles of the river say they have a loaded rifle leaning up against a corner almost in every room, and all their ranch hands are packing. And, of course, we are all very aware that guns could be totally outlawed in this country at any given moment. So, the populace in these areas are not nearly as peaceful as they once were. I've missed living there forever because at heart I'm a country girl, but on the other hand, I do know when I'm well off. So, I have a bunch of rat killing to do, and I'm off to do ------------> Have a good one! Buckette
Hey Cuz, It has been awhile since I have been on the list, has anything new popped up regarding Lovelace's of Wayne County, Kentucky. I have been out of the loop for several years after my husband passed away and I have been busy taking care of my father. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Pam Lovelace

Hello everyone, I am starting my research into my family now. I know my grandparents John Lowell Lovelace Sr and Flora Lena Eaton Lovelace were born in Brown County Texas and I believe both of their parents were born in Brown County Texas also. I used to have all their names, dates of birth and dates of death written in my grandmothers handwritting but I can not find it now. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate getting it from you. My personal e-mail address is lkl4930@yahoo.com Thanks in advance, Keith Lovelace ________________________________ From: Greg Lovelace <greglovelace@comcast.net> To: lovelace@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, April 13, 2010 8:10:22 PM Subject: [LL] New Cuzzin Hi, folks And hello to Keith Lovelace <lkl4930@yahoo.com> Welcome to the group, Keith. Mornin' Cuzzies, Another loverly day! ( : Still running in the high 40's at night.....very uncharacteristic.....too cool for here. And, we Houstonians are following our Astros on their streak since opening day of baseball.....yes, a streak of 7.....losses! <We need a new owner> o : Da Kid is following w/ great amusement: one of his least favorite coaches has been one of their talent scouts...obviously they don't know what they are doing. And, it's about these athletic domes and arenas that have been built to house these professional sports. We are sitting with the indebted Astrodrome here <subject of the lead story in the Houston Chronicle front page this morn> which is no longer used for much of anything.....as we've <the taxpayers> have built new, wonderful extravagandas in Houston and all over the country.....while tearing down Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, over the week-end. I wish the lack of foresight and brains was going on in another venue besides sports.....it's embarrassing! o : But, I am looking forward to next great sports spectacular which is the Kentucky Derby the beginning of May. Lots and lots of new green foilage in our adjoining woods.....so pretty! It has drawn the boidies and the cat crew.....no, they never meet. Cat crew is waaaay too phaaaat and lazy to be any kind of threat. They just flip their tails back and forth, and make those strange, gutteral cat noises that they have. Nooooo action, Jackson! Hope it's finally pretty and semi-pleasant where you are! ( : Buckette

This is David Wilson resubscribing from a new email address. I was automatically unsubbed from a bunch of lists and forums when my email server began bouncing legitimate messages and failing to send messages to addresses that it used to mail to without a hitch. The problem is random and continuing, so I am just giving up on the old address. Sorry about the confusion. I have tried to write to a couple of you separately (Greg and Jimmie Ryan) but I suspect my messages may have been trapped and discarded. If you are hearing from me for the first time in weeks or months, that's what happened. David Wilson Still Maryland Group (Benjamin/Barton/Samuel/Seaborn etc.
Mornin' Cuzzies, It was a spectacular!.....yes, of course, I'm still yaking about the Masters. And, yes, sir.....Mickelson is always mah boy in every tournament.....just tickles me! Big, lumbering, seemingly uncordinated ox striding down the greens w/ his huge feet, but he can play some of that golf! Tears ran down my face as I'm sure they did everyone's with wife Amy's arrival at the course as Phil strode up to the 18th green. It was a finish that most Masters watchers will never forget. And, we will all also remember Fred Couples's four blown short putts which would have put him in the green jacket, and we would have all been just as thrilled. Poor golf in general in that I don't think they get it....it was never about Tiger. His interview at the end of the tournament killed him off more than his antics off the course did. I think the effect of the interview will be lasting. One of the first things a coach teaches a competitor if one wants to maintain the integrity of the sport is to teach humility and respect for the sport's difficulties.....and Tiger never learned those things from his dad.....and showed that lack to the world in the interview representing what is known to all as the *gentleman's* game. Very, very poor. We can all put in our notebooks the grit and gallantry shown yesterday by Mickelson under great duress.....as his wife is so ill, along w/ his Mom, and remember it as we, too, run into the travails of every day living. Have a good one! Buckette

Hi Greg, I hope your Bday was fantastic and sorry I was late. Pamela Lovelace Dawson
Mornin' Cuzzies, I am absolutely captivated by the Masters Golf Tournament this year.....every year it is such beauty, such drama. And, I love imagining in the early 1730's when Oglethorpe settled there amongst the Creek Indians at an ole fort with a handful of first white men settlers....6 of them and their families is the story we get, which included Henry Overstreet whose succeeding offspring went on to marry into the Loveless clan. Mankind, who is so totally trashed these days for making a mess of the environment, certainly did not in this spot where they only enhanced its magnificent beauty. Notice that the cold weather in GA this spring has not allowed the azeleas to be in full bloom as the white dogwood trees are. I imagine the totally woodsy original terrain w/ narrow paths almost 400 yrs. ago, and the copperheads, wolves, mountain lion that lived there, just waiting for a nice morsel to trod down the path. Henry Overstreet, but of course, became an Indian trader. A number of Houstonians and Texans in general fly into to the small Augusta airport in private planes to watch parts of the tournament. My nephew went a couple of years ago w/ a group of yahoo friends of his from here. They had to circle and wait to land for quite awhile because the airport was beseiged w/ other private planes landing. The group thoroughly enjoyed watching a day's worth of exceptional golf, climbed back on the plane as the day was ending, and headed for New Orleans where they stopped, ate, and drank late into the evening......arriving back in Houston in the wee hours of the morn.....w/ big smiles on their faces. The precision of play is remarkable along w/ the civility of the atmosphere.....huge numbers of people conducting themselves in a very orderly fashion w/ no high fiving, leaping around. It is so civilized w/ it's overtones of British decorum. Not even Tiger's actions nor thankfully the lack of reactions to his romps disturbs the ritual. The pairings for today are wonderful, and I shall enjoy every single minute of the spectacle....truly one of our great American events! Have a good one! ( : Buckette
