    2. ALTON LOVELESS
    3. For those who wish to know: My wife and I have returned back to the Columbus area of Ohio due to our health, to be near our son. We are now living in the beautiful Teay's Valley area of Pickaway Co. in the the village of Ashville. I have alway's enjoyed Ohio so it was not hard to come back here. Our sons felt it would be wise to live near one of them. After 11 operations in the last 4 years, it was difficult for them to have to rescheduled their plans to be with me in St. Louis. Our address is below:   Dr. Alton Loveless  Alton and Delois Loveless 527 Virginia Street Ashville, Ohio 43103 573-330-7728 Cell For "Monday Moments" blog go to: altonloveless.blogspot.com for additional stories.    ________________________________ From: "spice3@juno.com" <spice3@juno.com> To: Lovelace@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, May 25, 2010 10:14:34 AM Subject: Re: [LL] Tues May 25, 2010 Mornin' Cuzzies, Everytime the news comes on abt. the oil spill, Ole Buckley begins to agitate his petroleum engineering mind, saying, "Well, I don't know nothing about off shore wells, but I wonder if they've tried this."  Then I'm taken thru some technical description of capping a blow out well on land, which though not a piece of cake is obviously much easier to deal with.    My Daddy, a geologist,  were he alive, would be doing the same thing.  These oilmen.....they loooove working these wells!    Never understood why.....that's some dirty and difficult work usually in weather waaaay too cold or waaaaay too hot! Now, the geologists and the engineers don't actually do the work.....they do the thinking and the telling.  In the Houston Chronicle was a story about one of the 11 who was killed in the Gulf.    "His girlfriend said he had been calling her before and after every shift --- unusual for him.  She says he was frustrated with problems on the project.  'Everything that could go wrong was going wrong,' she said. 'Every time he'd call me, he'd say, 'This is a well from hell.' "    Ah guess.  o : Since the country continues to have a need for petroleum until the alternative energies are developed, one would think the safest places to drill which we have in abundance is on land.....which the special interests block.    So, it forces drilling in the most difficult of places.....doesn't seem right bright.    Also, seems as if decisions these days are based on who's pocket is fullest of the most money.  Ah, me! In the meantime my heart breaks for the Louisianaians who are w/out a doubt the cutest people in the world!    They have their own little culture down there, and have great fun and spirit!    I have several little chums who live in New Orleans....some of the funniest stuff I receive thru email comes from a 90+ gal who can bang purdy good on a computer key board.  ( : Y'all have a good one! 3. From the paranoid section, there are a lot of trackers, trojans, worms, and phishies on the super forwarded messages. I get to clean out the trash from several neighbors that are in worse shape than I, the more they forward (especially religious messages) the higher the count! I took 3600+ malware files out of one laptop! 2. Mornin' Cuzzies, It's what is passed around from fren to fren in emails....really sort of an interesting subject to me. I'm connected to a bunch of animal lovers, and we pass "aaaawwww" pictures to each other all the time. It's a brief moment of fun during the day. Received a tape the other day of a guy who raised a gorilla and then was reunited w/ him in the jungle. Amazing! Also, on web cams there are a bunch of babies being born: birds, horses, chickens, puppies, who have huge followings of watchers. And, I have my wildlife group.....and we send the huge gator who's swimming w/ a dead deer in his mouf, or the rattlesnake found in Jacksonville who's almost as long as a football field is wide, or the tape of the mule killing the mountain lion. I like all those. o : However, if I sent a picture of a snake to Da Kid, we'd have to rush him to ICU!! Now, I'm one of the more religious people I know.....I don't send out religious stuff. And, the reason I don't is because I'm a spiritualist w/ some Episcopalian overtones who believes in reincarnation, meditates, communes w/ all matter of spirits.....I mean to some of you, I'm out there. I don't express my views to others; why would people send me religious stuff? I get it all the time. Is that crazy?!! And, then there are the GI soldier patriotic group.....I don't need to be reminded to support our troops. Every generation in my family has dead soldiers having fought for the freedom of our country, w/ the most recent being my two college grad officer uncles who left this sphere w/out offspring so I have no first cuzzies. I know what families feel when they send their boys off to war. I don't need to be reminded. Sometimes I think not much thought is given to email stuff we pass on. And, how 'bout the hysterical virus alert.....that's generally three years old, and the sender usually sez.....I don't know whether this is true or not. Generally it isn't. 2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Beautiful day as we wind down the last of May.....school's getting out, and there are lots of year end celebrations for the babies. Frens are going to high school graduations, college graduations.....some for grandchulins. Mercy! Just busy, fun times. Heard an interesting story abt. the woods the other day.....if you have raccoons, you won't have any snakes. Coons evidentally do special numbers on snakes. Ah guess that's true because, knock on wood, we haven't seen a snake in years around here, in otherwise very snakey country. Several years ago I ran into several coral snakes, but they are so shy. One pair was cavorting on the front walk.....when they saw me, they screamed, "Eeeek!" and slithered away as fast as they could. They aren't at all like rattlesnakes, very non-friendly sorts, who immediately coil, start rattlling those rattles saying, "Bring it on, Baby!" Sisters-in-law made it back from their European soiree in one piece. They had a 4 hour extra air trip over Europe navigating the volcanic ash; otherwise, no probs. Three of them....stomping around over there.....ages 83, 87, and 90. Can you imagine! Lovely day! Enjoy! ( : Buckette

    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Breezy, beautiful day in ole Houston town.....these are the kinds of days it pays to drive around the city because there is very little traffic.....everyone has gone to frolic for the Memorial Day week-end.....hopefully to the beaches while they are still pristine. I have so many friends who live on the Gulf of Mexico's waters from Florida all the way around to Mexico. I hold my breath for them! o : What a world we live in! Front page all over is the textbook fight in Austin, making national headlines. Remember the ole, tall skinny broads w/ the unsmiling faces standing around saying, unyieldingly, that teaching oughta be *this* way or the highway? Well, unfortunately, I've joined the ranks. Whatever happened to "be the very best you can be" rather than what group you belonged to? No wonder test scores have dropped, drop out rates are sky rocketing, and SAT scores have remained the same for decades. The emphasis has been moved away from achievement and aspirations of excellence. Believe me.....my only interest in coaching a brand new baby was what he/she had in his heart and how badly he wanted to be a champion. Considering body size, type, talent, sex, or nationality never entered my mind, nor did I allow it to enter the children's minds. And, we certainly didn't team up and fight over it. Speaking of champions, all of Da Kid's widdo kids did their thing last night and prevailed at the top of the heap. Now they go into all-stars and the great run for a place in Williamsport.....it's tougher to get outta Houston than it is to win in Williamsport at the national championships. And, as I watch from year to year, the favorites often lose because rookie daddy coaches overkill and wear their teams out in practices trying desperately to win it all.....a word to the wise of some of you Daddy coaches: if you haven't taught them everything by now, it's too late.....get off their backs and let them rest. Happened again last night.....a little team that had won 19 lost the whole deal......tired as they could be......coach overworked them the day before the final game. I'm off to do Sattida thingees.....stepping over a bunch of lounge lizzards.....the cat crew who have crashed everywhere Ah want to work! o : Have a good one! Buckette

    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Lovely, peaceful, very still morning.....daylight....sun's rays haven't cascaded into our forest back here. Fluff Cat is snoozing on the deck, all happy and comfy. Cute little cat. Someone has been very, very ugly to him. ) : Ah told you Ah crashed into a chest in the middle of the night.....still sore. Can't laugh, sneeze, cough....hurts a lot when I do. And, last night when I was eating dinner, I felt like I had the mumps on one side.....now, that would be a trip, wouldn't it! Ah tell you.....it's just hell to get older, at any age! I am grateful I'm not banging around Portugal like the sisters-in-law *still* are. Big travel is just not my thing.....they looooove to go! They'll be home soon. Houston has a brand new baby elephant and all the little children flocked to the zoo for a look see. She's as curious to see them as they are her. All the little ones so cute eyeing one another! Front page of the newspaper always has a picture of a funeral....been running on a daily basis. We've lost a basketball star, a soldier, a policeman, and another soldier....one day after the next. Speaking of talented young men....the Astros are still on a losing streak. ) : Our new multi-million dollar stadium is half-full. And, when I last checked, the oiyle is still pouring out where it shouldn't be, and the retired petroleum engineer around here, Ole Buckley, is still stomping around the house grumbling abt. it all. And, yeah, agitating abt. the younger generation bleeding these wells too fast for faster money and greed, losing the suction in them so they produce abt. half of what they are capable of.....but, he's been agitating abt. that for a number of years. Just a different breed of cat runs our world now.....and ye gods! We raised them! o : Y'all have a good one! ( : Buckette

    1. [LL] Susan's morning message
    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Getting warmer.....highs now are predicted into the '90's. Summer's almost here, after the shortest spring on record. I just had a look out my sliding glass door at new upstairs deck resident: one little fluffy orphan cat who barely allows me to pet him on the top of his head....only when he's eating. Otherwise, the petting is a no go. Sprawled on his back....yes, flat on his back.....hind legs stretched out straight. Nutty looking sight. Just enjoying the breeze and the shade. Eyes shut tight. A smile from ear to ear. I am very confused by all the racial talk. How come front and center we are classified as to race? I'm used to the classifications of "hot" vs "dawg" concerning appearance, jock vs nerd, old vs young, suthin' vs Yankee vs Calie Fornians, rural vs city. As to color, that was always confusing because in the wintertime I was one color and in the summer because I was a swim coach, I was distinctly another. To make things more confusing, I have 4 generations of family buried in one plot in TN, wherein the main house slaves and the black overseers who were considered family were buried w/ the family. Only discovered that thru genealogy. Same is true in Ft. Worth, Texas, after slavery was over. No one has ever mentioned race. Then I married a Tampico, Mexico, raised Irishman. Now, those Irish.....they are a strange breed of cat. However, Scarlet's father was Irish, so I guess it's okay. Anything Scarlet does is okay. And, natch, the Buckleys married the neighbors' children who were Mexico born. Tio <uncle in Spanish> was the family fav who only lived to get thru his work every day, kick back w/ his buds to enjoy what life was all about which were his "frosties" and watch the "mamas w/ the nanas." Tio was very vocal abt. it, and very, very funny! But, I'm now having *serus* identity probs because now what was very natural to me......is now met w/ "you are a racist." Ah quit! I'm too long in tooth to be concerned w/ all this foolishness. Where did I go wrong? o : If this is the new world, stop the merry-go-round, I wanna get off! o : Excuse the rant.....It's the oiyle spill that's got me! ) : Have a good one! 2. Mornin' Cuzzies, When I sit down at the computer, I have to dump this black cat outta mah chair......or I have this black cat, incidentally the same one, jump into my lap and commence this big purr. I can live w/ all of that, but it's this extra long, extra alley-cat type tail belonging to Blackie that's hard to deal w/. It waves back and forth, under my nose, sometimes blocking my view.....just a nuisance, busy tail. Oh, yeah, and a lotta purring comes with the package and a bunch of kneeding of the paws' claws into my leg.....not swift! So, in the middle of night when one has to get up to visit the bathroom, the trip there sometimes is pecarious. One has to step over thingees, such as junk left on the floor, a sleeping cat, all matter of booby traps. So, on Sunday night on this usual excursion I crashed, for whatever reason, into the corner of a chest.......no, I don't think I broke a rib, but I be a right sore puppy, that's for sure! I was telling a fren abt. it and she said she recently crashed into a pillar on her front porch, and slit her forehead open. o : So, we've had all kinds of explanations abt. the Gulf oil spill which the petroleum engineer, Ole Buckley, has intently listened to, and his opine is that BP is highly incompetent. When they took the mud outta the hole, he sez, that's when they set the death trap.....and that was PE 101 in his opinion. So, now you know. And, I will add that those Lazy Daisies we pay in the gubmit bombed in overseeing it all. I wish I thought it was all sabotaged by some extraterestial because that would make the story much more entertaining! ( : Have a good one! Buckette

    3. Bill- I have no Rhea's in my line, and my Lovelace's weren't from TN--but I do a lot of research in Carter, Johnson, Sullivan, Greene, and Washington Cos in East Tennessee, and Ashe, Watauga and Rowan Co's in NC--and I run into the Rhea name a lot. Also, there were Lovelace's in either western Washington Co or Greene Co, and my line was in Rowan Co., NC. Try starting at www.usgenweb.com and from there go to the state and county you want to search. Also, there's a site called New River notes at www.newrivernotes.com that has a lot of info on the western NC and eastern TN area. You might also search Google for Goodspeed's History of Tennessee which has bios on a lot of the famiies in eastern TN. 3. Hi, folks And hello to David Aaron Lovelace <jak_blak_digital_arts@yahoo.com> Welcome to the group, David. When you get comfortable with us, let us know who you're researching, and we'll do our best to help you connect. In the meantime, feel free to dig in our archives, and be sure to visit our website at <http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~lovelace>http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~lovelace Our online library of Lovelxxx documents, narratives, and pictures is an ongoing project to which we add as time allows. You can access it right now by clicking on the "Documents" button on the left margin of the main page. And our y-chromosome DNA study has proven very successful in unravelling the confusion surrounding several of the colonial American Lovelace and Loveless families. The results are posted both on the FamilyTreeDNA website (<http://www.familytreedna.com/public/lovelace/>http://www.familytreedna.com/public/lovelace/) and on our own DNA website (<http://dna.satmel.com/results.html>http://dna.satmel.com/results.html) Take a look! We now also have a companion website on MyFamily.com. If you're not familiar with that organization, to go <http://www.myfamily.com>http://www.myfamily.com and read to find out a little more about it. If you'd like to be invited to join that site, please email me at < <mailto:greglovelace@comcast.net>greglovelace@comcast.net>. Glad to have with us :-) Peace, Part of the Tree, Greg

    2. Afternoon Cuzzies, Nice day....in the 80's. Ah kin dig it. ( : Da Kid is out at the little kid ball parks.....watching the league he works outta go thru their league championships....a bigga day! I'm appointed weather person watching the radar for a front that's coming across Texas w/ a lotta rain....but, it's moving so slowly that I don't think it's going to disturb anything in Houston until night fall.....if it doesn't dissipate in the meantime. o : For those of you who might have watched the Preakness.....very lack lustre. Before the race I had decided that Super Saver wasn't big enough nor grand enough horse to be a Triple Crowner. I didn't like the jockey Calvin's game face. I didn't like Super Saver's parade before the race. He wasn't together. After all, I made a lotta money in mah day based on my horse opinions. And, after the race I decided that this year's three old thoroughbreds across the board were a particularly lack lustre group. But, in three weeks I'm gonna put mah money on Ice Box. I like the horse, and I really like the trainer Zito. He's gonna do it! ( : Aaaand, the Astros had their third player in the last 7 games be ejected.....murrrr cee! And, yeah, they lost....what's new?!! o : Have a fun, lazy Sunday....I am! ( : Buckette

    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Had a bunch of good rain last night....lots of rumbles, cha zams, and bright flashes. Ah like a good rain storm ( : .....but, not one that brings the water up to mah deck w/ minnows swimming around in the top of the water. That's not cool. That was two yrs. ago, to our shock! And, radar shows some more rain, not minnows, coming in this morn. It's gonna interrupt orphan cat Fluff's morning snooze. ) : In fact, it must be cat snooze time. As I look around the room, I can reach out and touch 4 cats zonked. Got another biggie horse race today, the Preakness. And, of course, I'll be rooting for my Cajun jockey, Calvin Burrell, who gets unabashedly soooo excited when he wins. Generally the bigger the sports arena, the cooler are the victors......not Calvin. He just goes all to pieces, and Ah just looooove it! The trainer is a Texas boy who's daddy I knew around the tracks....nice family. The really strange thing are Calvin's mounts...these are young horses, not all that used to the whoopla, probably none of them have been under a saddle a year. So, when you are around these babies, you take great care not to make any sudden moves or wave your arms, etc......otherwise, the horses veer and you will find yourself quickly on the ground. Somehow those horses that are ridden by Calvin trust him completely.....if the horse wins, Calvin goes nuts.....waves his arms, jumps all around in the saddle, and his mounts don't seem to flick an ear over it. You watch today.....ole Super Saver will just plod along like an ole draft horse back to the winner's circle while Calvin does almost back flips on SS's back. Where are mah Lassie reruns? I used to watch them on Sattida morns......yeah, in my 20's yet. ( : Y'all have a good one! Buckette

    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Eight o'clock in the morn and ready to start crackin'.....except it appears to be the Kitty Krash House. o : I have Fluff Feral on the deck....stretched from here to there....zonked. And, two inside.....one on the bed and one on the floor....completely crashed. Do they cavort all night that I don't know about? Do we have an after hours Dine & Dance in the neighborhood....for hep cats? o : Obviously we've become the neighborhood Feline Flop House. Maybe I should establish a collection plate around here for donations. Ole Buckley continues to read about the oil spill, fascinated w/ the logistics and descriptions engineering wise that might have happened to the well. There was a thing that existed in the oiyle bidness in Texas and OK from the '20's through the late '50's, early '60's: independent oil operators were the producers of the petroleum of whom we are the children of.....and there was a huge division between them and company people, few in the beginning, who worked for Esso, Humble, Phillips and the first of the big oil cos. The line of demarcation was clear and very established. They didn't respect each other, socialize together.....nuthin' like that. And, he and I are both children of independents. So, we naturally, though maybe not correctly, think all oil company people are doofuses. Of course, the independents were run outta biz by government policy in the '80s. Heard that one before? It was called OPEC. So, it's only natural that Ole Buckley thinks BP is inept and very much at fault. The pain of thinking about the damage that is probably going to be done to the Gulf Coast area and the playgrounds of millions who love to go to the beach, and/or live there is just too much to think about. Ole Buckley spent the first fifteen years of his life over looking the Gulf in Tampico, Mexico, from his bedroom window. True to mah Scarlet O'Hara roots, I'll think abt. that one tomorrow. Twiddledeedee. Off to do many thingees.....have a good one! Buckette

    2. Afternoon Cuzzies, The usual Houston May weather day which is nice..... It's abt. the new semi-feral cat who's been hanging around since before the cold weather. Am making progress, but it's very slow. He comes in to eat on a more regular basis now, but is very thin. He's usually on the upstairs deck in the early morning, eats his breakfast, and then snoozes in the breeze and the shade until the sun hits the deck in the late morn. But, it's the way the chile snoozes that's a trip! Must be the only safe and comfortable place in the world for him right now. He s-t-r-e-t-c-h-es out......I mean....loooong! On his back w/ his legs stretched out like a human's......heels on the deck. Darnest thing you've ever seen. And, smiles. Every morning when I put his food out, he hisses and carries on as he walks towards the plate. I can pet him on the head while he's eating......Mommie cats lick babies on the tops of their heads, so he likes that.....Oh, yeah, I've had worse cases around here. He doesn't come on the downstairs deck because the cat crew does *not* care for his presence....to put it mildly. Well, Da Kid has just walked in, and I haveta go see what's on his mind.....y'all have a good one! Buckette

    2. Afternoon Cuzzies, Breezy, fun, semi-clear, semi-summery day......we are in great shape! No floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, oil spills or riots! ( : I read where 100 languages are spoken in Los Angeles. Even though I speak five languages <somewhat>, I don't think they are recognized. I speak English and suthin' or Texan.....that's two. Nooooo.....they are not the same! Then I speak Mexican......that's not Spanish, but a Mexico/Texan combo which is an entirely different language. And, I can comprende a bit of French. Suppose I could make it in LA? Uh, I don't have a tatoo.....that probably lets me out. o : The sisters-in-law are flying to Portugal today.....one said she hoped they weren't hijacked and blown up. Hey, no problem there. You don't go through a *scarey* period.....whoooosh, and you are gone! Think abt. it.....it beats being carjacked, stuffed in the trunk, and driven around town for 24 hrs. Do me in, but don't s-c-a-r-e me. Baby don't like no scarey stuff. o : Since the *sistahs* are going to Portugal, they will do fine.....since Portugese is so close to Spanish. They are going to Lisbon and climbing on a boat that makes a lazy trip way up a river, sponsored by the magazine the National Review. Think they won't be taken care of.....one traveler is Wm F. Buckley's sister, one is his fav cuzzie, and one is his fav cuz in law. Do I wish I was w/ them? Noooo way......I don't like to travel. Just put me on a porch and give me a glass of lemonade! Hand me an ole newspaper.....Ah might fan mah sef from time to time. ( : You know, Scarlet did that. Speaking of newspapers......stay away from them and the TV if you want to have a good day. Nuthin' you can do abt. it anyway..... ( : Buckette
