Author: jndhm50 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lovelace/448.1.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Now that you mentioned Thomas Lovelace and Amelia Dyson, I recalled seeing that before. In fact, on this Lovelace message board, I searched on Amelia Dyson and found a "tree" showing Thomas Lovelace and Amelia Dyson had a daughter, Sarah, who married Allan Davis. Theresa, Elizabeth and Mary must be Allen Davis and Sarah Lovelace's children, since they are all older than Alfred. I think Mariah is also their child. Emeline, however, is probably Rosanna Emeline who married George Babcock. I believe she is the child of Allen Davis and Margaret Houston. Interesting that you found information about "divorced". That would indeed explain why we can't find death record. If Sarah never came to Illinois with Allen, but the children did. . . .interesting. I will in the next couple days send you copies of Elam's death record and the obit of Allen. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I found a sarah lovelace, daughter of thomas lovelace and amelia dyson of rowan co north carolina, who married a mr. davis. (this thomas davis is a relative of price lovelace's mother.) I found this information on the world connect project at rootsweb. at the bottom of the information it says "divorced". this would explain why I haven't been able to find any burial information for sarah davis in greene county. if they did divorce, that would also explain elam's death record that showed his father as sidney a davis and mother as sarah lovelace. perhaps sarah lovelace davis married someone with the first name of sidney and the last name davis got changed? It might also explain who theresa, elizabeth and mary are - children from a 2nd marriage of sarah? elam was living with arthur davis in 1860 and there was also a maria who could have been been the daughter mariah who was with allen m and margaret houston davis in the 1850 census. I'm not sure where emeline fits in - who married george babcock. well, what is your opinion on this?? I would love to see copies of elam's death record and also the obit of allen m davis. my email is ingabeads@aol.com. Thanks! 3. I have a John Miles Lovelace and his family in LaGrange, GA in late 1800's. John Miles moved from North Carolina. I have his line as John M > Amos > Erasmus > Charles > JBL (although I am not sure how accurate that is). I don't see the migration from LaGrange to Evansville on quick glance, I will look a bit more later. -----Original Message----- From: lovelace-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:lovelace-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Greg Lovelace Sent: Sunday, July 11, 2010 9:58 PM To: lovelace@rootsweb.com Subject: [LL] Lovelace LaGrange, GA > Evansville, IN Hi, Cuzzin Greg2 Just wanted to check in with you to let you know that nobody forgot you, and that the reason you haven't received any information is that I've had a pretty busy weekend! I just tried to get onto Ancestry.com, but they're having problems, or I'm having problems connecting. At any rate, I can't do any checking for you tonight. Does anybody else have any information for our new cuz? Jack, you've been awfully quiet lately. Hope all is OK and that you've still got that great database to draw on. Do you have anything? And Greg, names of folks would be helpful. If you could share parents' and grandparents' names, that would help a lot. 2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Summer's just a hummin' along.....half way thru now.....hard to believe! Haven't had a day hit 100 temp and have sweated nary a big storm. Not baaad! ( : The Astros, our illustrious baseball team who we had to build the big stadium for when we had a perfectly decent domed stadium loooong before anyone else, is only filling it half full these days because the attendance is so bad.....the team can't beg, borrow, nor buy a win. And, we the public, were conned into believing we had to build in order for big corporations to relocate here .....to get those companies in town, we needed first class facilities. Shoot! Have a winning team, and I believe you'll do just as well.....how many of us have watched good games in hovels! And, the blood bath's been going on w/ the 12 yr. olds to battle their Little League way to Williamsport and the national championship. Da Kid's team went down last night for the final time, but he admitted early on they didn't have the guns this year. A Houston team will pop up and win that sucker one outta abt. every 4 yrs.....and then they will have a parade, front page news, the whole nine yards for the team. 'Bout half cute! o : Lazy Sunday day....y'all enjoy! ( : Buckette

    3. If you look at the 1880 census record for James Franklin, there is a son James that is 5 months old with a birth date of Dec 1879. If you look at the 1910 census record for James Franklin (30 years later), there is a son Newton that is 30 years old. It looks like this is the same son so I suspect his full name is James Newton. I have run into this issue quite often where the census record will use the first name one year and the middle (or common name) the next year. I do have a James b ca 1880 in Lee Co MS, son of James T. Franklin Lovelace and Mary Susan Wooldridge. James T is the son of William Erasmus and Panthea Allison. The Lovelace men are from the line of JBL's son Charles. Can anyone tell me if Jame b ca 1880 and James Newton b Dec 7, 1879 are the same guy?
