HAHAHA! I don't think he actually went into the pit of the outhouse/water closet.... Mornin' Cuzzies, The last gasp of August.....and it couldn't come soon enough! This has certainly been a record hot one for us down here in Texas......although the last few days have been in the low 90's instead of the high 90's w/ a few showers from time to time, which has not been as deadly. And, since we last visited, mighty Casey from Pearland, the Little League boys, struck out.....however, they have been welcomed like Kings back here in Houston town. ( : I tracked a Lincoln town car I was after.....though you who've been w/ me many yrs. know I drive one town car after another completely into the ground.....beautiful, clean car, well, well priced. I wheeled it around the block and proclaimed it was a magnificent car and the best on the road. However, it was light years difference in what Lincoln ordinarily produced in the past and it was too bad the company no longer knew what they were doing. No cars are even comfortable anymore because of the way one is strapped in a little comparment area like we are going to be shot from a missle. Ah, me! What some people consider "progress" has a lot to be desired. I now own another Lincoln. ( : Y'all have a good one! ( : Buckette

Buckette, my mother once moved 18 five gallon bucket of rainwater! And, about 40 years ago in the final illness of a friend of my mother, this woman asked my mother to take care of "Uncle Walter's ashes". I still have the ashes - he is not our relative; I have done no genealogical research to see if he has any living relatives; and I keep forgetting to put Uncle Walter at rest every time I plant a rose. Sigh! Lisabeth On Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 5:30 PM, spice3@juno.com <spice3@juno.com> wrote: > My mother did that....sho did work well. Mornin' Cuzzies, Gonna get down to a little reality here today....pay attention. A psychologist fren of mine told me when you get into your late 50's, you should start down sizing because you are leaving. I thought he was nuts! But, I'll tell you now.....do it and keep everything cleared out you are not using. Reality is....you won't again. If the partner goes down w/ an illness, it's too late for that project because your time will be spent as a caregiver. Don't let thingees stack up that you'll do tomorrow.....tomorrow will turn out to be busier than today, and you'll have less energy. Wire everything as if you are leaving earth's plane tomorrow. Don't ignore that we are leaving because we all are. o : Also, be prepared to be screwed by the banks, the credit card companies, the credit bureaus, the court....and all those things you wrongly think are so solid. Mornin' Cuzzies, Well, don't look now, but we got three tropical storms coming our way in the Atlantic Oceans. I go to http://www.nws.noaa.gov/ which is the national weather bureau and look them up in the column on the left hand side which says hurricanes. The first one is scheduled to turn and go up the Atlantic coast and may miss the US altogether. Aaaand, Pearland, Texas, from the Houston area finds themselves in the finals of the Little League World Championship.....their two games w/ WA were just unbelievable! One wanted both teams to win! Fabulous hitting, pitching, plays.....and some biggie little kid errors and nerves. It was worth watching. I won't miss the next game.....on CNN2.....Sattiday.... Speaking of.....the indictments against Roger Clemens are just unbelievable. Like the pot, who is Congress, calling the kettle black. Will any member of Congress who has not broken the law please stand up! It is almost impossible to keep up w/ all the crazies going on in our gubmit today.....makes me tired to watch them! So, have a good one! ( : Buckette
I got to catch part of the game yesterday between Texas and WA....and it was an exciting game. Some very talented kids on both Teams. I caught myself pulling for both Teams on each play. The Mormons have done more for genealogical research than anyone anywhere. The Mormons have research centers all around the country, where anyone, no matter what your religion or beliefs can go and look at records from all over the world. Records that most of us cannot travel all the places we would need to go to find those records on our own. I for one am grateful for that. I have been to their family centers for research many times and not once have any of them ever tried to convert me or asked for my information so that they could pray my ancestors into Heaven. Whether or not we agree or disagree with their beliefs is totally beside the point. I don't really know much about their beliefs and frankly I don't care what they believe , they have gathered in the records, made them available to all, so all I'm saying is that we don't need to be knocking anyone or anything on this list, especially people's religion, politics or family. For whatever reasons we all relish the hunt. Of course we run across errors in our research, there are many out there, and not just from people putting undocumented information on ancestry or wherever, but in census records, marriage records, there are possibilites for errors everywhere. That is why we stress doing your own research , documenting your own findings , so that we know for a fact or not that so and so was so and so's father, or at least we know who the father is according to the records, right or wrong. I WILL say as the g-granddaughter of one of the "High 12".... YES, Mormons do indeed do the research for the specific purpose of "praying them into Heaven" Mormons believe in the "baptism of the dead" and that one must perform baptisms on behalf of dead relatives/ancestors so that those relatives are not left lingering in their version of purgatory and also to assure your own place in the Celestial Kingdom- individuals are called to research on behalf of LDS as their "works" on earth. My grandparents were adamant when my father died that he must have a proxy baptism, even though he was strongly anti-Mormon and believed strongly that Mormonism was a cult (He broke the Mormonism chain in our branch of the family). Against his wishes and mine, I found out doing genealogy research that indeed, a proxy-baptism was performed for him. I also found that my grandmother was one of the head researchers for LDS... for the purpose of proxy-baptism for deceased individuals. So, to some extent, Harvey is correct. -SB ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to LOVELACE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to LOVELACE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Hey Suze... Your Pearland team is going against our Auburn, WA team again today... Auburn won last night. I saw highlights on the news and it looked like an exciting game!
