Mornin' Cuzzies, I don't know why my last two notes have been all jumbled up and written in one paragraph.....they aren't sent it that way. When one marries, in an absolute weak moment of adoration and snow job ism, to a 46 yr. Mexican Machismo Macho, one's mind is very hazy.....to say the least. Ole Buckley and his brothers and his uncle used to express that life was only about the "mamas w/ the nanas" and their "frosties" which were their little toddys of which they were into frequently....tequilla being the number one choice of addiction. There was no mistaking that those two items were the focus of their lives. So, in case I haven't told you, to find the famous Swim Suit Sports Illustrated issue in Ole Buckley's desk was not a surprise.....current.....March 2010, as he was a game 82 yrs. of age. The best bodies depicted are many of the swimming stars of the country for they w/out a doubt have the best bodies. My own saving grace was that I, too, was a 5' 10" swimming star w/ the accompanying body for many years. And, all along you thought he was entrapped by my wit. Ha! Or worse, you thought the focus was the swim suits! Da Kid loved the discovery of the swim suit issue! It's in the genes.....had I known all of the above as well as I do now, life would have been a lot less difficult. ( : Now that you have life more in perspective, I bid you to have a wonderful day. It's perfectly beautiful here......in the mid 50's. Buckette
Mornin' Cuzzies,A cool, clear, calm high 50's today.....rather unusual for us this time of year, but everyone in town has a smile on their face and a spring in their step.Football season is shaking out.....Florida, Texas ain't got it. 'Bama's on fire. The Texans looking very formidable.Politics going full blast....everyone's got their liar's book out, especially the twoGov. candidates here in Texas, Perry and White. Put them together and theydon't make enough to blow either to hell. Leadership has to do with who's gettingpaid the most under the table.....and they *all* are! And, incompetence reigns supreme! Lincoln can't find my floor mats. The bankcan't produce the paper that says what I owe them. Non-English speaking clerkscan't give the right change. County can't find my voter registration....I've only beenregistered here 37 years! Where did it all go wrong?!Hope you are having a better day! Buckette

Mornin' Cuzzies, Bee u ti ful day this morn in ole Houstontown....low 60's, breezy. Cats can't make up their minds as to whether to go outside in the semi-brisk or stay inside. Ah, decisions.....the bane of life! Football for Texans yesterday was not cool. Is Texas's offense, full of blue-chippers, gonna fire ever? They thus far they can't untrack. ( : And, excuse me, I'm just not used to Stanford getting whipped by Oregon. Every year Stanford picked up my best swimmer.....they have the Cadillac of athlete departments....always! And, those little speed merchants from Oregon don't weigh as much as I do! I spent yesterday afternoon at Da Kid's digs where he's been for almost 3 yrs..... in front of a screen that makes one think the ball players are going to run right over the top of you. He has been settled in with the current squeeze and her two children. Are they going to marry? Well, who knows? Even they don't. It's a whole different breed of cat out there, Ah kin tell ya. Have a good one! ( : Buckette
Great cat stories, Lou Ann! ( : <cat geneology> Buckette
Cats, OH MY!! Let me tell you about my cats. I have (had) always been a dog person until one day about 15 years ago a stray kitty wandered up (had probably been dumped) and my little dog adopted her. I named her Miss Kitty (original, huh). Anyway, Miss Kitty grew up and had kittens and at that point she became Mama Cat. That was really when I became acquainted with the antics and uniqueness of cats, but we live in the country and it's kind of hard to have cats what with the critters around. But over the years Mama Cat kept us supplied with kittens and that helped keep down our snake and other varmint population. At one point I had fourteen cats, but attrition being what it is and Mama Cat growing too old for bearing kittens (I had all the other females fixed) and the Toms wandering off and eventually not returning, I was down to two old cats. (Mama Cat died three or four years ago) One of the ones left was a "fixed" female who had the personality of a crotchety old maid and one was a half-wild Tom who was really beat up and scruffy looking from various scrapes he had been in. I commented one day that I needed a new cat or two because I wasn't sure how long these would be around. Well, my niece called me one day and asked me if I was serious because two of her cats had had kittens and two of those kittens had hitched a ride under her truck as she went to work that day. How they survived that 20+ mile trip I'll never know, but when she got to work, a fellow worker saw the kittens sitting on top of one of the tires of her parked truck. Long story short, she brought me those kittens on her way home from work. Well, I have four little granddaughters and it was hard for those two kittens to go around. One day my daughter-in-law comes in with another kitten from a litter someone was giving away at the side of a road. Okay. Now I have three. Still not enough for four granddaughters. So, at the grocery story one day, my daughter-in-law finds another litter being given away and here she comes with another one. (That, one by the way is named Super-C - for the Super C Market where he was found). Now I have four. My crotchety old maid cat ran away. She didn't like the kittens at all. We haven't seen her since the third kitten made its appearance. The wild old Tom has become Papa Cat. He loves those kittens and is never far from them. I think they've probably added some time to this life-span. And one of those kittens looks exactly like my Mama Cat did. I'd swear she was one of hers if I didn't know better. We now have Shadow (a calico who looks like my Mama Cat), Frisky, because that's what he is, Luna (a gold one) and Super C. The granddaughters named them. And I have four granddaughters who theoretically don't have to fuss over who gets to hold a kitten. HAH!! Shadow and Luna are the sweetest ones so, of course, now they all want those two. And, no, I do not want to go looking for two more sweet ones. Four is quite enough for now. Frisky and Super C are fun to watch. They just don't like being held. And the granddaughters are just going to have to settle for that. Being in the country I don't keep them as house cats. I don't want to clip their claws, BUT, all of these want to be house cats and everytime a door opens here they come, including my wild, (who isn't wild anymore) scruffy old yeller cat who has never in his life (before) wanted to come in the house. I just looked out on the porch and Frisky and Super-C are curled up in a card board box on top of the old Tom. It's the most hilarious thing. That box is hardly big enough for one cat, much less three of them. Lou Ann
Mornin' Cuzzies, No abandonment here.....just busier than I know how to do! Used to be able to whip mah wgt. in wildcats, and think on six threads at a time, but no mo. Maybe it'll come back. Got too used to being Sadie, Sadie, leisure lady. Now, it's about Gray, this strange cat who lives here, w/ the little white boots and little white nose and cheeks. He was always an aloof "cat," you who know cats know those, while the rest were lap cats and pets. Well, no more. I sit at the computer, and he arranges himself at my feet....touching yet. I watch TV in the evenings and he sits on the arm of the couch and puts a paw over my shoulder. I'm just not used to this togetherness w/ this cat. Cats are straaaange! And, doing bidness in this world is strange.....I am not of this generation. Everyone is incompetent, you can't understand them because they don't speak English that well, and they are dishonest. It's culture shock.....! o : Hope your days are going better.....mine will settle down eventually. Have a good one! Buckette
I am a fan of Maine Coons... though can they honestly be classified as a "cat"? My last one, Charity, was 18lbs of fury. Not furry, FURY. ha! Loving the cartoons, Greg! We too are thinking of a "granny cottage" for my mother... have you seen the little med-cottages? They are popping up all over in VA. After so many bad experiences with Homes, I think it's a great idea to take back our elderly - my mother (disabled due to cancer) would greatly benefit from them. Just enough independence but helpful for her care! (Of course, many you get to a point where you need round-the-clock care and thus Homes are what they are. I think many who work in Homes don't get enough credit for the hard work they do...punished by the few.) -SB > Date: Fri, 1 Oct 2010 10:14:59 -0400 > To: lovelace@rootsweb.com; lovelace@rootsweb.com > From: greglovelace@comcast.net > Subject: Re: [LL] Fri Oct 1, 2010 > > At 09:08 AM 10/1/2010, Suze wrote: > >Cats are straaaange! > > Buckette, > > I, too, am a cat lover, even though my house is without a feline > right now. Sadly, we have become a people who are only as smart as your computer can think for you. Lord help us if there is a serious computer crash! My MIL that just passed was a full Filipina. She married a Navy man and after many years living in Japan, came to the States in the 80's. She worked constantly to perfect her English, but even after 20 years here had such a thick accent and would confuse words (surfboard and skateboard, etc). MIL wanted to work as a receptionist - she was a people person... but her son promptly told her that while she would be delightfully kind to customers, they wouldn't be able to understand a lick and therefore she had no business answering phones! Now, I am all for people's coming legally to our country and working hard like the rest of us. And I think everyone should have a chance at a good job - but like MIL, you must understand your limitations. While I speak other languages rather well, I would NEVER consider working in those countries on a telephone system! Buckette - we're in league together you and I! -SB > From: spice3@juno.com > Date: Fri, 1 Oct 2010 13:08:54 +0000 > To: lovelace@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [LL] Fri Oct 1, 2010 > > Mornin' Cuzzies, > > No abandonment here.....just busier than I know how to do! Mornin' Cuzzies, Got one bank totally out of my hair yesterday. It is enough to shoot up a flare! When two horsey, independent people as Ole Buckley and I merged, one a 46 yr. old bachelor and the other a gal who'd been living on her own for 8 years, the merging sometimes in areas never takes place, as it did w/ our bank accounts, which always remained seperate. I would suggest if you are of that hardheaded ilk, when one is terminal, you make some changes. ( : This particular bank wouldn't even talk to me, tell me what was in the account, nothing! So, I had to wait two months for the probate to take place to find out one thing. Then after I showed them all the papers, etc., they had to confer for four days amongst themselves.....which was ridiculous! They had numerous other processes which were ridiculous, so this is just a warning to the wise. Anyhoo, they cut me a check for the remainder in the acct. yesterday, and I'm glad never to have to deal with them again. He'd had this particular acct. over 30 years. Just a warning to the wise of how thingees might play. It's total unnecessary aggravation! Low '60's this a.m......lovely day! ( : Buckette
Nancy --- I would like your input on the family you mentioned. I show George Washington 1833-1902 as son of Jesse Lovelace (1806 - 1873) married to Elizabeth Nixon, son of James T. (1771-1790) son of Joseph (1722 - 1790) . Jesse has a brother Hazel whom I show married to Linna Riley. Your progress may be correct and I would appreciate discussing this family. If you want to disscuss it privately e-mail me at omaandopac@austin.rr.com. Thanks Wilbur Crenwelge

Did you catch my Wufpack yesterday on ESPN? Whomped Georgia Tech and their vaunted running QB 45-28. Russell Wilson, NC State QB, passed for 368 yards and three TDs, and scored another running. There was also a running TD and a blocked punt for a TD. Scary in the 4th quarter, though, when GT got to within 3 points after scoring 2 TDs in 50 seconds. But the 'Pack answered with 2 TDs of their own to go to 4-0 in the season, the only remaining undefeated ACC team this season. Just saw that they finally made it to #23 in this week's AP poll.
