    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Beautiful day! Cat crew snoozing w/ smiles on their faces. Fluff, feral cat who frequents the upper deck for breakfast, is full and napping. Boy just doesn't curl up like a cat to nap.....he stretches out on his back, heels on the floor, arms over the head.....a real trip to catch his zzzzz's. He lets me pet him now, only when he's eating. Still hisses and then softly mews..... wonder what his story is. o : Back to college football....who the fire is Boise St.? And, when did Oregon get to be such a powerhouse? They are tough little booger bears. And, glad to see TCU in the top ten rankings. We're tired of hearing them whine about Bama, Texas, FL being such money schools and unbeatable. In sports, anyone is beatable! It's all in your head and not in the bank. The top ten this week clearly shows that.....it takes ability to get in the natl. championship, not $. That's an excuse for losing.....I don't buy into that. Looks to be a neat day. Hope y'all have one! Buckette

    3. One of the Mattaponi Custalow's is very active in my church - he is related to Minnie HaHa (not sure if she's a mother, aunt, sister or what) and is one of their oral historians. Minnie HaHa is a staple to the reservation and the area's history! I lived a few miles from the reservation for about a decade. They are known in the area for their history records. Small world! 2. Hi all, I had an interesting message from a descendent of the above couple and if what she says is accurate, there is finally an explanation of the name question. Some of you may recall that she is supposedly wife of Alexander, but appears on census records as Lovelace with Lovelace children. Some think she has 4 illigitimate children and that she is the dau of Archibald Lovelace of Pr William Co VA. Some think she is a widow Lovelace and sister to Alexander Cornwell. The girl who wrote me today laid both of those things to rest. Here is what she says:   also, to note:  Susan Lovelace was of Mattaponi Indian....they usually keep their last names even when married and pass Their name onto their children, hence all the children with Susan's last name "Lovelace"  There are a bunch of Lovelace's in the Upper Mattaponi tribe.  Per Mini Haha of the Mattaponi, Lovelace's are her cousins. I've written her back to find out more about the Mattaponi Lovelaces. I had not heard of them before. I will also invite her to join the list. Lou Ann

    2. Mornin' Cuzzies, Managed to get thru the week-end football wars....it wasn't easy! I'm sure I'll have to be re-whirlpooled and re-taped. Po ole embarrassed Texas, twice defeated, managed to get up off the ground and whoop Nebraska, never a slouch and ranked at no. 5. That was a welcomed surprise! Then the Texans more than strapped it on Kansas City in a great game yesterday. So we in Houston be smilin' this morn.... ( : In the meantime but everybody be registered to vote around here..... men, women, dawgs, lizards....y'all come and just sign your name. And, if you wanna vote twice, well, do that, too. Why not? Texas will go the way Houston goes, and Houstonians not missing any opportunities to vote and vote often! Isn't that a welcoming gesture! Mr. Kat tells me he's signed up under three different names.... 'course he can't read nor write, but those are just details. So, off to the wars on Monday morn....y'all have a good one! Buckette

This is based solely on a search of census records. David Loveless b. c1787 NY + Barbara -James F. Loveless b. c1837 NY + Hannah P. --Sidney Lovelace b. c1873 NY + Ada M. ---Leon A. I had another data base marked and was able to get into that. I got to the main page for rootsweb, but when I try to go to the home page for World Connect, I still get the "site down" message. You can access it right now by clicking on the "Documents" button on the left margin of the main page. And our y-chromosome DNA study has proven very successful in unravelling the confusion surrounding several of the colonial American Lovelace and Loveless families. The results are posted both on the FamilyTreeDNA website (<http://www.familytreedna.com/public/lovelace/>http://www.familytreedna.com/public/lovelace/) and on our own DNA website (<http://dna.satmel.com/results.html>http://dna.satmel.com/results.html) Take a look! 3. Beth, Back on 30 Jul 2002 you wrote a message to Ruth Compton in which you stated that a Fred Loveless had found a marriage date for Benjamin McMakin and Tabitha Loveless of Mar 1843. You did not have a source for this marriage. Have you been able to confirm this date and obtain a source? If this date is correct, then Tabitha was 41 years of age when she married Benjamin and she is not the mother of Benjamin's children. According to the census records, Benjamin had the following 5 children: 1) Sarah b: 1828-1829. 2) John b: 1831. 3) Joseph b: 1837-1838. 4) Benjamin b: 1839. 5) Mary b: 1841. The 1830, 1840, 1850, and 1860 census records all seem to be pointing to the same woman as Benjamin's wife, which implies that Benjamin and Tabitha were married in Burlington County, New Jersey before 1829. -- Jack D. Gets two regulars a day. Is a terribly abused little cat.....hisses and mews at sametime, and at first wouldn't let me come near him. Now, he gets his strokes, only when he eats. He needs to be snapped up, put in a carrier and hauledoff to the vet for a neutering job.....haven't been brave enough to do that yet,but it will come. Time is growing short if he wants to go to San Antonio w/us.....gonna have to change his ways a tad.
