Mornin' Cuzzies, The newpapers are full of stories about what the election meant yesterday. All kinds of theories. None of them have hit yet on the correct theory whichis.....we don't have to be insulted w/ anymore of those dumb ads which treatus like we don't know what's going on. Some days you just gotta wonderabt. the media and yes, even the candidates. Everyone's outta money.....the states, the cities. Houston set up a veryexpensive system whereby they collect millions in fines for those runningred lights. People don't mean to.....it just happens in traffic when the lightsturn. So, we voted on it....and it was voted down. So, they have to dismantlethe whole system.....that's why we're outta money, folks. City Council doesall sorts of things, and then asks us abt. it later. o : Cool, breezy, clear day here.....and I'm outta here to go do some rat killing. Have a good one! Buckette

Mornin' Cuzzies, Now can we get back to normal? And, what is *normal*? At least we won'thave to watch a bunch of silly grown people rave on and on....at least it's inEnglish still.....but, I wouldn't count on that even lasting too long. When my worldmoved, they didn't leave a forwarding address! ) : It is cool and kinda wintertime here.....rainy, too. Ole "Mexican Hot Blood" Buckleysho didn't like the winter last year.....first time I ever heard him complain about theweather, but he sho grumbled last year. 'Course he didn't have enough meat onhis bones to keep a gnat warm. I was actually glad this morn when he didn't haveto go out for the paper. Speaking of.....very uplifting film "Afterlife"......which Ibelieve because I've experienced some of those things. Oh, yes, w/ all my ismsI'm also wierd along those lines! o : Go see it....it's thought provoking. BTW, when they divide us up, rich/poor, black/white/Mexican, Christian/Jew/Islamic,old/young, pay no attention. If we are divided, we're not nearly so strong.....and that,my good folks, is exactly the point. Together we can move mountains, and that iswell known. Have a good one! Buckette

James Alexander Monroe Lovelace was one of the Rhode Island line, I think. His DNA marker was R1b1c10. His father was Andrew Jackson Lovelace, and his grandfather probably Young Lovelace. Thanks, Nancy. James Alexander Monroe Lovelace is the great-grandfather of Sue Hassler and me. I have been to the cemetery (it took me a long time to find it) and photographed the grave. The cemetery is just down the road from South Fork (of TV fame). James Lovelace died of a heat stroke in 1882 when my grandmother was only six months old. After his death his family moved to Montague County, Texas, to live with his widow's family. As I remember, one of the McMillans was married to a Lovelace. Carolyn. Mornin' Cuzzies, Many Texans dancing in the streets because the mighty Texas Longhorns have gone down in disgrace.....and that's the usual case w/ a win/win team. Even I am wearing my SMU sweat shirt this morn. o : The excitement in the state is in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and they are hysterical over their Rangers making it to the World's Series....a definite biggie. But, the excitement to me over the week-end was Drew Brees leading the Saints past the Steelers. I filmed Drew in a high school playoff game, and I was totally amazed at the little bitty pewt's ability. He has the heart of a lion! And, they tell me that we vote tomorrow. It's no longer who can *win* the election, but who can *steal* the election. They, and we know not which side, burned up our voting machines here in Houston several weeks ago. We need to go back to paper ballots since the machines have the capabilities of being so rigged. Not everyone understands that.... It will also be more than nice to clear the airwaves of the campaign rhetoric. ( : Y'all have a good one! Buckette
Mornin' Cuzzies, Beautiful day here in Houston town.....down to the low 50's....clear, beautiful sky. Everyone smiling. Oh, yes, I eat a huge breakfast at a little place around the corner that plays Bach music....called the Egg and I. It gets me going on the right foot every morning. They giggle when I order grits and call me southern .....well, what else is an aging Scarlet supposed to start her day with?!! We got the football wars today....I'm waiting for Texas to flush their starting freshman quarterback and put in the heir apparent who is Case McCoy, little brother of the celebrated Colt McCoy who was the runner up Heisman Award fella. The Texas grandstands would go crazy over that move! ( : My cat crew of 8 has dwindled down to two in the house who are actually friends. None of the others were friends. These two play together, sleep and stay together. Mr. Gray and Blackie. I'm so original w/ mah names, doncha know. And, they are constantly under mah feet.....think I'm apt to get in trouble if they aren't close by. Now you go out there and have a good one today! Buckette
It's been several years but we enjoyed Montezuma's Castle ( Indian Dwelling ) and Montezuma's Well, a natural wonder both just off the main drag and as I remember an excellent ice cream shop near the later. Good places are the Heard Museum of Indian Culture in Phoenixwww.heard.org ; Saguaro National Park and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum north of Tuscan are a good day of driving and sightseeing; http://www.desertmuseum.org/visit/ ; http://www.nps.gov/sagu/ Alton's suggestion is another full day of unbelievable sights. My daughter gets back from a trip there tomorrow and I'll ask her if she has other suggestions for places within the city. Mornin' Cuzzies, Nothing like dealing in the financial world when you have no financial background! That's what I've been doing all week. It's to tear one's hair out, I can tell you! Eco 101 was never mah bag....and I only passed it in college because I can easily memorize.....had no idea of what I was memorizing! o: And, the prof was cute! ( : Uh, a good looking young man has *always* been an inspiration to greater aspirations. Temps were in the high 50's this morn.....I'm so excited that next year I will be able to have fires in the fireplaces again. Such a treat! I'm a big 'sit on the fireplace hearth and toast mah fanny' chile! Yes, I have fireplaces in San Antonio....have them here, too, but I don't trust them. Southerners generally don't know how to build fires that will burn. Mah Momma used to build one that would never get going when Daddy was out of town, and my brother and I would just laugh and laugh at her as the dumb fire would just smoke and never get going. Daddy on the other hand was an upperstate New York raised lad and could build a mighty fine fire! Going into the witching hour week-end.....y'all have a good one! Buckette

The only thing I am discovering is that absolutely everyone is as nervous as I am abt. their economic circumstances.....and they know a lot about what is going on. So, there you have it. My learning curve is veddy steep! o : Several years ago I was running a geriatic center for cats. Some of my crew had really gotten up there.....18, 19, 22 years old, and, of course, we didn't let them dwindle out of here....we mercifully put them to sleep. Alas, the last elder and sickly left on Monday....the irrepressible Mr. Kat, a personality unto his own. Bon voyage, boy. You were a great one! ( : Da Kid sez....yeah, Mom has put 4 kitties to sleep in the last few years, but that's okay. She still has four! Hope all is well w/ you! Buckette
